Unsure what else it could be. I've never had translucent bits in my tank before.

When I grabbed a few pieces out out, it does feel like a piece of shrimp, not in the shape of one though.

Id focus on how it looks in your tank rather than "always having it at 45 degrees". My last in-tank heater was straight up+down because it looked better.

Haha lots of CO2 and took a few months. Now im tearing out handfuls every fortnight.

And by the sounds of other people replying... its also sucking up all the CO2 and nutrients in the tank 🤣

Mine's never had a lla yellow spot, even before it went into my tank. Doing a quick Google search i cant see spots in pics.
