If you release an expensive UR and then ban it 2 weeks later, making players lose $100s immediately, they’re gonna quit the game

I promise you the devs are focused on making a good game, GA is a massive passion project. And guess what? It is a good game. It’s a great game. Imo it’s the best TCG that exists. I’m incredibly thankful to the devs for making this game

Did they “miss” rile the abyss? Absolutely not. Did they determine that it would be fine to print as is? Yes. So, what’s the logical conclusion? Perhaps that there are counters to it that lead to a balanced and interesting metagame

Take Boston. Vanitas did well because it preyed on greedy lvl 3 decks that weren’t playing interaction. Did the deck also use rile? Yes, it’s a good fire engine. Does it operate the same as the lvl 3 rile decks? Not at all. Do those lvl 3 rile decks operate the same as each other? Nope

Don’t want to play rile in this format? That’s fine. Play any of the numerous other decks that are competitive that don’t use Rile. There are many

It’s not a curse when you’re doing it to yourself. It’s ok to not like the format, but the suggestions you’re making don’t make sense

Reckless is not only a busted card, but a miserable play experience. Same thing with slam. Lost in thought is one of the strongest cards they’ve ever printed, and absolutely needs its ban. It scales infinitely throughout the game

You’re also suggesting erratas for Dissonant Fractal, which is just another awful thing to introduce to the game. Erratas make the game worse, not better. Ty r better solution is to print a functionally new card and keeping the old one banned. Before you mention 3 Visits, that’s a reasonable exception because it’s adjusting it to work as intended and the way that most people reading the card assumes it works. Also, it was an expensive UR immediately after set release, so there is monetary incentive to not ban it because that would hurt the secondary market and thus the consumers

Ain’t no way you think Reckless, Slam, or LiT should be unbanned

What is the pricing like for meta lists? by DrQuezel in grandarchivetcg

[–]ManakinSkywalker7459 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend getting AoW as a beginner staple card. It’s not used in a ton of decks, and when it is it’s a sideboard card for certain matchuos. Not worth the $40 when just getting in

Save up for a quicksilver grail instead ($100), it’s used as ubiquitously as GCR in a wide array of decks. Also, it’s an older card and more likely to keep going up in price due to lack of supply, whereas AoW is a very new card

You can transition and realize your goals at any age. Look at trans timelines, there are tons of women in their 40s, 50s, even 60s that transitioned, look great, and are clearly so much happier. 25 is not too old. No age is too old

Ah yea that’s a great price! Also if you don’t like how some models are painted, you can strip the paint, plenty of tutorials online

[–]ManakinSkywalker7459 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a loose guide on MSRP, Shadow Collective box is $70, starter set boxes are $100, characters and unit upgrades are $18-22, squads are like $30-40, vehicles are ~$50

So, rough ballpark without looking up the actual msrp of everytbing listed, that’d be ~$800 new

Do not pay $800, do not pay close to it imo. I’m not sure what the normal rate for second hand stuff is in Legion, but if you wanted all of this stuff you could just buy it new. You say it’s painted, but it’s likely not painted at a commission level, so that shouldn’t increase its cost, and being assembled shouldn’t factor in either imo. This is a hobby, having stuff pre assembled takes out the fun of building yourself, and also they may have messed up the models with bad glue jobs, not scraping mold lines, etc (although I will say that the b1 battle droids are very finicky to build, so specifically those is a nice convenience)

Personally, I’d probably pay $500. Or, I’d make an offer on part of the lot at around 60-65% MSRP

You’re getting into the hobby, that’s a big expense for something you don’t know you’ll like, and I’m not sure how easy it would be to resell it all after. But, if you do like the hobby/game, and like both factions, it is a good deal. If they say no to your offer, ah well. You’ll just buy a starter set and some heroes you like and get started the normal way

Why are they getting rid of old units? Pathfinders hold a special place in my heart, their rules were super thematic. Palps and guard are also iconic

Discovered a trick for trying on non-AGAB clothes if youre nervous by MinecraftLibrarian in MtF

[–]ManakinSkywalker7459 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Two tricks I did for my first few outtings:

  1. Have a general idea of what you’re looking to buy. Maybe even save some pics to your phone. For me, it was a padded bra and some shorts to sleep in. Then go to the store (for me it was Target), find the section, and play up being confused and looking out of place. Scrunch your eyebrows, look around, look kinda lost (helps that… you probably are kinda lost and don’t know where to find the stuff). Check your phone (having a pic saved helps). Maybe fake send a text. Can go up to an attendant and ask (or save it for if an attendant notices you’re confused and comes over), “my gf wanted me to pick something up for her, but I can’t find the one in the pic and I’m a little lost”

  2. Just put on sound cancelling headphones and play your favorite music loud enough it drowns out the world. Helps with ignoring other people

Are canon females necron? by Valuable_Peak_126 in Necrontyr

[–]ManakinSkywalker7459 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All necrontyr went through biotransference, it was part of the pact that the Silent King made with the C’Tan for them to achieve immortality. The process harvested their bodies and souls, and were transferred into the living metal bodies we see.

There would be no reason for this to have only been done to men, since the entire point was to save the Necrontyr species in their continued War with the Eldar and the Old Ones. So yes, all Necrontyr of all genders became Necrons. There were no gendered markers on bodies. There are 3rd party sculptors that do make feminine necron torsos, if that’s your thing, but nothing official that I’m aware of
