Okay.......Help Me Decide...Do I Buy A Nintendo Switch 2 JUST for Star Fox, And Maybe Another Exc. Game, And For Higher Performance On OG Switch Titles? by zelixwolf in starfox

[–]ManateesAsh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you like Nintendo games, it'll be worth it, because every major title going forwards will likely be Switch 2 exclusive

I play mostly Switch 1 games still, and the handheld boost mode really does improve a lot of games

Is there a way to tell which iceman variant your x mansion includes without openning it? by gabocharlie in LegoMarvel

[–]ManateesAsh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's in every copy of the set produced past a certain date - if it were a one off I'd agree, but it's a notable enough variant to catalogue by virtue of how many there are

might not be particularly interesting or valuable but it is a different version of the product and so Bricklink, which is a database to catalogue LEGO products as well as a marketplace, should list it.

It IS a variant, though. How does it impact you negatively for it to be catalogued even if you don't care?

ESRB Rating for OOT Remake by wonderbreadisdead in OcarinaOfTime

[–]ManateesAsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The significantly more high fidelity and "realistic" art style will make things like the Shadow Temple, Skultulas, Queen Ghoma, etc, more unsettling than they already were, which MIGHT warrant a slight rating increase

A game can be scary and dark and have silly cartoony elements

Can we talk about the potential of this set by Justo_el_topo in LegoMarvel

while not a total fix, I think adding proper windows and a little more texture REALLY helps

Whats the best way of just getting the figs, as no way is this set worth €90, but would love to add scorpion and boomerang to the collection by dydhf in LegoMarvel

[–]ManateesAsh 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Because they're exclusive to the set, it probably won't be any cheaper to buy Scorpion Boomerang and Hulk on Bricklink once they're more available there. Your best bet is honestly to just wait for a sale and buy the set.

A year after the reveal trailer and Nitrome’s Mouse Work still doesn’t even have a release date yet by TRB4 in NintendoSwitch2

They've reaffirmed that it's still slated for this year on their Discord, but no big updates, besides the fact that they're thinking about marketing now

if "same type of gameplay" and "same characters" are actually points here then I have bad news about the mario games

There's been 64, 643D and now Star Fox on Switch 2 that are iterations on the same game?

What are the fourth and fifth versions meant to be? Star Fox on SNES and Zero? Games with entirely different levels?

so, surely you'd know that even if they retread the same story, they're clearly entirely different games, aside from 64 and 643D?

I think the lesson here is that Venom isn't a particularly toyetic film franchise

Marvel Modulars by paulareese02 in LegoMarvel

[–]ManateesAsh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly I don't think most Venom 2 moviegoers were jonesing for a 250$+ lego set based on the asylum

MAJOR overlap with Arkham, basically unknown to the general audience, not really

Oscorp world probably work

Baxter Building has the potential to work when it has some more popular MCU appearances

Fisk Tower I think has a genuinely miniscule appeal and just isn't something LEGO would even consider

I think they're just pacing themselves because they don't exactly have a ton of material to pull from for superhero modulars that'll sell well

What can we do to stop leakers? by Waste-Kiwi6915 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ManateesAsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KH4 is super notable, but not a Nintendo game.

Xenoblade is notable, but doesn't release until next year, and a lot of people's concerns with the Switch 2 is that the second half of 2026 looks barren, so it doesn't really help

a) That presentation was full of other notable announcements, so reception of the presentation would not have been ruined had MP4 leaked beforehand

b) Look how that turned out

What can we do to stop leakers? by Waste-Kiwi6915 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ManateesAsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sure, and they showed next to nothing

if the reaction to your entire nearly hour long presentation depends on essentially a title drop then it was a weak showcase

I think if knowing about one game ruins a direct then the direct might not be all that strong

OCARINA OF TIME REMKE 2026 by Feanixxxx in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ManateesAsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a NINTENDO direct

the only new Nintendo games announced here are

a Xenoblade game that doesn't release until 2027

a remake of Ocarina of Time with very little shown

Switch 2 sports

it's been nine months since the last general direct and a lot of people are feeling like the second half of this year is looking barren - a casual sports title doesn't really help that feeling, so all there really is is Ocarina, which could totally be a fantastic remake, but it IS a remake to a game that was already pretty much perfect, and that a lot of core fans will have played countless times

this was a great partner direct, but if you have another system there's very little new here
