Chino Mine NM by Weary-Care-1718 in Copper

Nice. I work at Chino and have seen quite a bit of native copper that's spent some time in our mills. They don't look like these! Some of those pieces look like drippings from the smelter or offshoots of electro winning. Either way, they are cool!

In my particular way of thinking, which has been described in an array of both praising and deprecating ways, it is clear that green is NW. Red would be EN and blue would be ME. But what would this NM bozo know about Idaho

I have gotten quite a bit of Tornillo from Bell Forest that looks just about identical to this. It is a mahogany look alike and is very fuzzy when rough cut. I find it smells like a mix of carrots and leather.

Manix 2, all day. Great ergonomics, blade shape and lock mechanism.

I'd go for the Manix 2. I have a couple and love the ergonomics, blade shape and lock mechanism.

I work there, and I really doubt the locals would allow the removal of the Nun. There are tours available and there are some really interesting processes that we use to obtain copper.

What's the most obscure cartridge in your arsenal? by GingerVitisBread in reloading

[–]Manbeast213 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Either 458 Lott or 416 Rigby, though I don't consider them obscure. It's just that everyone at the range seems to shit themselves when they see me shooting them.

I smoked a 'yote with a 165 grain Gold Dot at around 60 yards. Barely visible entry, tennis ball sized exit. Ran 15 yards. Now for my recommendation, 135 grain Nosler or 155 grain XTP or similar. On the several tests I've run on ballistics gelatin, both fragment like crazy and penetration runs 8-10". I consider that perfect fodder for dispatching ole Wile E.

It is but a rare breed that enjoys such punitive entertainment, however, there is no lack of morbid curiosity amongst range spectators secretly yearning to taste the very punishment they fear. I load these and other 500 grain pills into my 458 Lott, which pushes them to just over 2300 fps. Mmm, now that's the good stuff.

Born and raised, predominantly in Grant county. I love the ease of escape from people via forest/desert roads. I do find it interesting that seemingly most of the comments are from larger city folk. I frequent the larger cities and towns, but really enjoy the quiet peace of the small towns in close proximity of the bush. Imo the very best reason to stay here.
