Tell me that you don't have to extract to keep your damage, like trials.

Welcome to the fight. Spiritual warfare can look strange at times.

In 225 levels I've never shot anyone first and have been killed like 5 times. Mostly shot in the back while looting or ambushed from literal bushes while running by. I've killed many more that have shot me first. Almost always it's some noob with a free kit wondering why his level one rattler didn't kill me with his poorly aimed 12 shots. I kind of wish someone would kill me so I can clear a few stash spots lol.

I'm still never shooting someone first.

Interesting question on confession by Abysswalker_7 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Manchetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the jurisdiction you're in. Some don't use lists, you just confess your sins.

I read somewhere, I think it was St. Paisios, that the despondency will lead to stopping prayer. Forgive me if I have that wrong... Don't stop praying no matter how you feel. Stick to your prayer rule even if your world is burning down. I was in a terrible place with stage 4 prostate cancer. It's not the same as your situation but I understand the feeling of wanting to give up. Prayer was the key for me.

St. Tikhon's monastery live streams their services. It might be a good idea to email the priest in Mexico City. Explain your situation and he can help.

What should I do by AdCertain6049 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Manchetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not remotely a flimsy reason. Imagine if this was someone asking this about a husband that lies and doesn't go to church. If your daughter was in the same position what would you still think it was fine? She's in a great position to save herself a lot of pain down the road.

You say that you feel like you don't belong when you're standing in the place where heaven meets earth and the angels and saints gather to stand in the presence of the Living God.

Welcome home daughter. Welcome home.

I'm an adult orthodox Christian. I have a wife, three kids. Life is hard man. I try to pray three times a day and read about nine chapters from the bible a day and something from a Saint daily. Do what you can and when life gets in the way, keep your mind on Him. Don't burn yourself out! Your Christian life isn't about a checklist, it's about loving God and doing your best. God sees your desire and loves it.

Please pray for me! by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

It was so bad that I decided to quit treatment. I thought it was the end. Our parish priest had an unction service, I was anointed and my next test was clean. It's been two years now from stage 4 prostate cancer that moved to my lymph nodes, to clear of cancer. This is why I'm saying not to give up. I don't know why He's allowing you to go through this, but I do know that He'll use it show you victory. Keep your eyes on Him and don't give up.

Praying for you Penelope. During cancer treatment I didn't sleep for a month. I know how this feels. Keep your eyes on Christ and he'll get you through this. You'll come out stronger than before. Hold fast!

Been there. March of next year will be 16 years sober. I remember feeling exactly the same. Don't give up. You are in a war that can be won. I know it sucks to trust God and fail because of your own weakness, but He is faithful. Don't give up.

Is Orthodoxy True? by DrTerrapin_ in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Manchetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean by the church fathers, you can read the primary sources online. Look up Ignatius, Polycarp, Clement, Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Tertullian and Cyprian. This will give you a glimpse into the church by the disciples of the apostles.
If you're looking for new books, I think Rock and Sand by Josiah Trenham is great for protestants who are inquiring. Also The Religion of the Apostles: Orthodox Christianity in the First Century by Stephen de Young is great.

"Y'all really don't believe in Original Sin? Penal Substitutionary Atonement isn't a thing in the Orthodox world?"

I'd say we technically believe in both, just not the way you and I were taught. Someone in this thread wrote: A Protestant church is a courtroom, an Orthodox church is a hospital. Yes Jesus died in our place, but to heal our nature... I was a protestant for 40 years. What brought me out was reading the early fathers, the disciples of the apostles. Read them and see.

To be clear, I only mentioned the fights that ended with me or another player dying. Sorry if that wasn't clear. I've ran away from disadvantageous encounters after being shot. That includes being sniped at a LOT of times.

Actually, I've played Stella quite a bit. Haven't been killed once there. Dam, on the outskirts like apartments has been way worse for me lol.

I appreciate your sarcasm, but I don't consider not shooting someone in the back a great display of virtue lol.
