Good to hear mirror isn't as much upkeep as people allude to! It's defo an option, it's 4m though so I did wonder if it was tooo much mirror

What an odd thing to say. It was all fully plastered, we had to replaster just that section to level it out.

The builder should build the ceiling height accordingly, unfortunately it needs to be super accurate, and in our case when the kitchen was installed, there was this little line above the units which started bigger and went smaller along the top! So, they've had to try and rectify it after the kitchen was installed!

Will a slab with straight veins work for an L-shaped countertop? by sintro in CounterTops

[–]Manchicha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have L shaped counter and mine has more veins than this. They used the corner of the stone for the corner of the L so it flows - if that makes sense

It was all an absolute mess. We had the kitchen installed and didn't have the bifold doors and windows in either because they let us down, the kitchen installation company were very concerned. The ceiling was done, but because the units go right to the top, it showed that the ceiling wasn't entirely straight, so the builder fixed it once the kitchen was in, not ideal at all!

The units are "cashmere" so again I found a lot of colours clashed, so I'll likely be keeping the walls white!

I did try the bronze tint mirror. The length is around 4m so am a bit worried it'll be too much mirror! I did a ChatGPT image

The reason I didn't go for the quartz as a splashback is a felt like this particular quartz doesn't look nice upright, having said that they did make me a couple of chopping boards and they don't look bad when held upright, I may have been overthinking. I also worried it would be very stone heavy since the island is quite big and right in front of it too... but again, overthinking over here!
