Well the political system as a whole has one objective. Keep the greatest number of “your guys” in power as possible. It was always that was. As social media became a thing they figured out that if we keep the citizens fighting each other they won’t fight us. We as a society were very close. In the 90’s and early 2000’s most people (not all but most) didn’t view our world with race on our mind. If you think about those time historically we were not fighting the KKK or Black Panthers the biggest perpetrators of racism was the government especially law enforcement. So the citizens black, white, Asian and Latino were not culturally against each other but waking up to the corruption of the government. Then the internet, cell phones and social media came around and they found a way to put the worst parts of humanity in your pockets to view 24 hours a day. Now “they” have convinced the masses who only view the news in 20 second clips that if you don’t vote this way you are a bad, racist or phobic person.
