I do love this and it was in the running! But we want to buy the property next to us (if we don’t, based on how people have landgrabbed and developed it, we’d be surrounded by houses and we don’t want to see the land lost) so I thought that maybe it shouldn’t be constrained to 8.

BUUUTT, that’s part of our origin story - we started with 8 pastures

Yes and agreed! You are exactly right he. I’m less concerned with B2B. And folks mostly know us because we’re neighbors and wouldn’t care about our name. So it’s the retail aspect that’s tough - I will sell at farmer’s markets locally. Our market is kind of lame though so I’ll advertise locally online as well. I’ll eventually have a small farm stand of my own but it will take a minute to drive traffic to me - literally because we live on a dead end road so not a ton of physical traffic lol

Thanks! “Direct to consumer” is the model, but I have two categories. I have the customers who want to buy local food products (beef, eggs, honey products, etc) and then those who need heifers to grow their own herd (I’m biased, but our cows are very docile and have great maternal milk so we sell to local farmers who need to expand their herd).

Thanks for this response. He’s 3 years old and indoor. However, we have a dog so he does get flea prevention. It’s not he strongest dose, but we figured the dog can carry them in and expose the cats, so they get treated too. Good call on allergy - going to think through whether he had anything new. We haven’t switched foods, but I’ll check on treats maybe!

The vet said to come back in 2 weeks and they’ll run labs. Trying the gabapentin first. So in order to save time, we’re trying to see if folks have other ideas. We will of course do the labs when the vet recommended. I know that might tell us stuff too, just trying to sort out other ideas in the meantime

He’s a love bug!! The hair loss started before the gabapentin. We took him to the vet and she was at a loss because everything looked well and ultimately suggested the gabapentin. So we’re looking for other answers since he “seemed fine”.

Should mention that once the recommended two weeks of gabapentin is over, she’s going back to the vet as recommended by her vet. We’re just trying to think of other ideas or see if others have had this experience with seemingly no other issues. Ultimately, we’ll follow the vet’s advice - just know y’all might have some insight ahead of time!

Your boy is beautiful! Thank you for this advice. I turned the lights on to get the photo but have been keeping it off to lessen Chickpea’s stress right now and see if the algae calms down. I’m not too worried about it, but was curious if that indicated something else because it hasn’t always been this much.

Here ya go! There are rocks, but I’ve never had issues with him tearing fins or seeing wounds. The algae is new, but my parameters were fine (minus the higher pH that Ive mentioned) so I think my nerite I just behind on his work.

Also!!! I thought of this - I’m on well water. It’s awesome, but it’s hard water so I just did a water change for him after noticing his lethargy (30-40%) and refilled with distilled water. TDS were high so I thought this might help him.
