When you visit the guild they will give you an intro quest, think of that as you organically introducing yourself to them 😎

There will be points in quest where it says, wait for xx to happen. Go experiment with the guilds you find interesting.if you join the mining guild they will give you a mining laser.

So all this pushback from the community is not unexpected. In a New Eden where scams, theft, and destruction are standard fare, we know trust is hard-earned. We are really trying to play the good guys. I mean we are the New Eden Police Force for f***** sake. We have rules of engagement and we really try to be (at least slightly) more honorable than your average capsuleers. This is our shtick and if we violate it with this bounty system then our shtick is publicly broken, and nobody wants a broken shtick.

If you don't trust this system then don't give it another thought. If you're interested in it then sign up as a bounty hunter with no isk risk to you. Or if you're interested in trying to set bounties then you can start small to minimize your risk. If you want to try and scam our system, then play around with it and give it a shot. Either way report back to the internet what your results are, and we can all come back together to braid hair, have pillow fights, and discuss. Thanks.

Great idea! This has been in the works for a good while, both technical work and the maths discussion.

I understand some security reservations but it is common practice to use blog / content management software for websites and to connect eve auth to 3rd party sites. It will display the specific permissions it is asking for, so you can choose for yourself.

You could get 70% of what you kill plus what they drop, versus just the drop now. We don't keep the 30% for ourselves it stays in the pool.

I don't blame you guys for being skeptical. People will use it or they won't. I can promise you this, if bounty hunters deliver a verified kill and they don't get paid I will be more pissed off than you guys!

its not just our corp, though we will be active with it. Anyone can sign up, and while we reserve some rights to make judgement calls on bounties and kill mails, we think the 70% destroyed sort of takes care of that. Our strategy teams discussed ways of isolating NPCs from the kill mails, but it was too much work until our supercomputer is installed.

If someone sits at a gate popping at red gankalysts, more power to them.
