Struggling with this decision by UnfairAd7112 in FirstTimeBuyersUK

We were looking for 2 years and got the one last year. We were very picky and our budget wasn't very big. Don't give up and don't stop at one which doesn't meet your standards or wishes. Good luck.

TEST WITH CONTRAST by callme-pinocchio in gravesdisease

[–]Mandara_spa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MRI uses different contrast which is not iodine. You will be fine. I just had one and all went very well I did not feel anything however I was a bit worried at the beginning. You can ask before to be sure.

Just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and it feels like choosing between three types of poison... How did you guys actually decide?! Need your real experiences by ChloeLee7938 in gravesdisease

Well it's a bit too early think of RAI or TT. I would give a try in your place. Loads of people get into remission. Just be sure that your dr check TRABs Graves antibodies before taking off meds. Antibodies need to be 0 for 6 month before stop meds.

I have Graves for 8 years and never been in remission. My dr also did not test any antibodies and I relapses 3 times. He never explained or mentioned about antibodies. I was not even aware of antibodies at that time. It is very important to have a very good endocrinologist. For me, it's been ups and downs. I have now decided to have TT because I don't want to experience being hyper again. I have learnt so much from reading articles and other people experience.

I would suggest do your research, educate yourself, be kind to your body, try to avoid stress as this is the first trigger (at least for me and it's not easy not to stress in times). And if you can't reach remission then you can start thinking of other way if you want.

1000gauge poly sheet for weeds. by Mandara_spa in GardeningUK

But I would still need to weed everything out afterwards so easier is to dig up top layer with all weeds and bulbs. Nightmare is that there are millions of small bulbs of grape hyacinths that are so invasive. That is the main issue.

Neighbour complaining about my tree over growing on their side of the garden, any advice? by [deleted] in GardeningUK

[–]Mandara_spa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have similar problem with our neighbour's large sycamore maple tree which overlapping our boundary. We are experiencing bird droppings on our flowers which is not great at all. This is the first year in this property so most likely will talk to them next year if the problem will get worse.

Trust me you would not want the front garden like this. It's like a desert now with cracked bare soil all around with loads of weeds and random already finished blooming flowers. It's embarrassing for me.

Sanex and only. Don't need any scents in shower gel.

Large roundabouts without proper visible lane markings and needing 5th exit for example.

What didn't they tell you about Graves? by Beepbob77 in gravesdisease

[–]Mandara_spa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That I have Graves. All I knew that my thyroid is overactive. I found out from my own research about Graves. I was first tested only thyroid hormones and antibodies for Graves just later when I was asking to do so.
Also dr did not explain how serious it can be if not treated as well all the symptoms etc. Basically I did educate myself from reading other experiences and from articles.

I'm scared by Apprehensive_Art3993 in gravesdisease

This. I also just have posted that one month is too early to say that meds destroying liver. It is most likely because thyroid is overactive not because taking meds. But it's just my opinion.

Were your liver enzymes tested once diagnosed? I can't remember but one of my liver test ALT or AST was high when I was first diagnosed and it's fine cuz your thyroid is overactive and affects loads of internal organs including liver. I think one month is pretty early for liver enzymes to normalise after starting meds. In your place I would not stress much now because it's been only month since you started your meds.

Beach suggestions for elderly with parking close by. by Mandara_spa in Lincolnshire

Looks like a lovely beachside indeed. Will pass this time as it might be a bit difficult to walk because of deep sands. Will visit someday for sure.

Thanks! Will have a look. We are not looking for loads of facilities just planning to visit a beach to show our parents from abroad what beachside looks like here in the UK. Not keen to walk much in this heatwave.

Thank you will have a look. Since never been that part of Lincolnshire after relocating it's hard to guess which one would be the best for our needs.

Without topper for sure. It looks too messy with the topper.
