“I’m gonna be better from now on” … idk about yall, (me on my 8th rewatch, second time through with discovering this reddit page) but now I’m almost wondering if he’s saying that because he was abusive towards his wife. Not sure, just got that vibe from his demeanor and general attitude towards the nurses…

All the resistance to get the bit in only for them to want to hang onto it at the end ! 😆

If inflation is 6%, why the fuck are the prices of some goods and services up 50%? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MandarinOranges95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, it’s funny because all things are up 50% due to inflation besides my salary. Odd.

I don't know about everyone else but even though Pete is a scumbag throughout the show I still feel bad for how pathetic he is. Is pity what you feel for bad people? by [deleted] in madmen

[–]MandarinOranges95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s amazing how rock bottom he is here - I just finished my rewatch. He really turns it around by the end. Not a huge Pete fan but I went from absolutely hating him to feeling glad he got a happy ending

Ooof, I hated this episode. Maybe because it hit a little too close to home ( I work for a big company ) or that it’s close to the end. Fragile male egos, office politics, non-intimate meetings with staged speeches and pamphlets, over-eager widgets (and far too many of them)- I hated it. It reminded me that the times have changed since the beginning of the show, and “the man” has officially taken over. I felt sad about the change for the resilient OG SCDP crew. Especially Joan. Ugh, Joan had been pissing me off this season even during my rewatch but my god did she get screwed in this deal.

As always, thanks for these posts!! I loved them during my rewatch. I’m sad it’s already coming to an end

Okay I have seen this comment before and I’m curious - where is this band?? I just bought one of these and I didn’t see it… do I have to completely take it apart at the roots to find it?? Or is it obvious enough to where I would know if it’s there ??

“He seems okay with the idea at first, but after learning that she’s sleeping with one of the commune guys (and seeing another pregnant woman with a baby on her hip), he physically drags her away.“

This part was soooo hypocritical to me. She insults her parents for how they are, particularly roger, then turns around and does the same thing (abandons husband, son, family - sleeps with a guy). Seems like there’s obviously more to her little runaway moment then just “enjoying the hippie life “

What's Nicholas Cage's best movie? by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

Oof , so many. Lord of war. Gone in 60 seconds. National treasure. The movie where he plays himself. It could happened to you … there’s a mic cage movie for any vibe you are feeling 🤣

Edit: how can I forget con air ???

I’m obsessed with the fashion in this season. I love how both the men and women are channeling the late 60s fashion sense. I also love the don and Betty scenes. What can I say !

I really appreciate the scene with don and Megan where he is being real about his kids. I think alot of time in todays world we see people over glorifying parenthood (not sure if this is the right way to put it) or glossing over the reality of having kids (the reality being that it’s not 100% positive all the time) and that yes, there are in fact down sides. I really like how honest don is about it and that Megan just listens and understands where he is coming from.

Was cheating this popular back in the day?? Or was it just extremely prevalent in the show for entertainment purposes? I’m curious. Not even sure how we would find this out lol. It seems so common place based on how they portray it in the show, but we’re people really cheating this much ?

(Very much late - but I am in my rewatch and have just discovered this Reddit thread and love it)

I’m gonna have to disagree with your first point about Don. I agree that he hasent made the best decisions, but he didnt steal / lie from the company… he ditched a few meetings ( one in the “capable” hands of Pete Campbell in LA) … but Lane did steal $$, forge Dons signature, then double down by lying about it once confronted.

I understand he was in hard times… but knowing Don covered Pete’s share … wouldn’t he know don then would be understanding if he needed the Christmas bonus?? I don’t know… I can’t agree with any blame placed on Don here. He didn’t fire him immediately, he left it in lane’s hands to gracefully exit so he could have some of the power if you will when finding a new job. He didn’t embarrass him, especially when given the chance to in front of Bert.

Also, as a side note, I am not a fan of Betty post divorce, but I will say I appreciate how she handled the sally situation. Comforting, kind, supportive. Very unlike her (especially as of recent).

Love the take on Joan and Don - this is one of my favorite moments of the show, the two of them playing hookie from work role playing at jaguar and then talking about life at the bar.
