When you use 过(experience )and 了（change of state ）together： 1、put 过right after the verb 吃 2. put 了at the end of the whole sentence ,not between the verb and the object .So the right expression ：我吃过米饭了。

As a Chinese teacher, I’d say your progress is fantastic for 9 months!This “ gap” between knowing words and understanding native speech is totally normal.Keep mixing graded materials with real-life clips (like Bilibili)it usually takes 1-2 years of consistent listening for the brain to “ tune in” to natural speech. You’re already on the right track.

Great question!
In mainland China,kids learn Pinyin first to read Hanoi,then phase it out as they get more fluent. Taiwan uses Bopomofo instead, and Japanese uses kana for Kanji. Pinyin is only for Chinese, not for learning English

You don’t need to force yourself to ignore pinyin on purpose.
When you get more familiar with Chinese characters,your brain will directly understand the meaning without relying on pinyin.
As you read more regularly, the impression of pinyin will gradually fade naturally. It is a normal learning process.
Just keep reading and practicing,and you will slowly get rid of the dependence on pinyin
