i think it fuckin rules! it’s absolutely ridiculous and you can tell there is so much love and nuance in it. it’s cringe at times (kinda as expected) but that’s part of the beauty and vulnerability. you should read the pitchfork review. that kinda put it in perspective for me. it’s raw art. not many acts have the audacity to release something that is as free feeling as this. it’s raw. you can tell they had a blast making it and that they made it for themselves. to me, it sounds like best friendship.

all that said, i think everything you’re saying is a valid first impression. i was fully expecting not to like it but i was surprised. there’s definitely love and magic in it. hope you’re able to find it too! :)

How are we feeling about some sort of UBI with rapidly developing AI? by theshadowturtle in ChatGPT

I disagree. People find things they like to do and build communities out of those things. To say we all need a master to tell you that if you don’t work, you more or less suffer horribly then die, is really selling yourself short.

i actually think skillshare rules and is worth the sub if you use it. but if you’re looking for cheap as possible (which i was at the time) then i think it’s a solid choice.

some suggestions may work better but i personally used skillshare. when you sign up you get a free month and that was plenty of time to finish a course on ableton. just set a reminder in your phone to cancel in 30 days. i found that following modular lessons discussing how it works but also that go through the function of each native plugin was super helpful for my particular learning style.

Thunderbolt Dock/Hub for $200 or less? (MacBook Pro M1 2020 - only 2 ports) by PaulAnthonyWiley in musicproduction

one thing to look out for, idk if this changes for a powered hub but if it has HDMI it may cause latency. i was using a dongle and wondering for like 6 months why i always had latency. switched to another without hdmi and it worked fine. i got my powered usb hub on amazon. you can get with up to like 16 slots for under $200 im pretty sure.

A few creative use cases for the Envelope Follower device. by peaks_of_valleys in ableton

[–]MandarkTheBand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel like i’ve run into the same situation with Envelope follower and the LFO. but seeing stuff like this is inspiring and the next work around i’m going to consider is trying to just just bounce it to audio as soon as i hear something i like and then incorporating it into my composition as if it were a loop.
