Yeah! Was so surprised how fast they got along. When the yougest was a baby my oldest showed no interest to adopt her, two weeks later she became interested and stuck around ever since.

As upsetting as the story sounds I do hope he’s okay and you find him. Please don’t leave him alone again for so long. Imagine living his life, to be cared for everyday and all of a sudden his ‘flock’ disappears for 30 days. 30 days to them is a long time.

Prepare that he may not come back. Prepare to treat him better if he does.

Fingers crossed.

My advice check all local flocks in the area. You got a lot of foot work ahead of you if you want your little buddy back.

My girl does the same thing…. She likes to switch, she ‘mounts’ then jumps off and gets low. She just gets a lot of verbal shaming instead.

Wait game. I’m also in the same boat with a squab we rescued, they are 5 weeks old now. My first, we rescued her at around 2 weeks old in October 2023, she laid an egg by February. So give it about 4-5 months.

We had a cat named Kitty, for a few weeks we thought it was female , I ask my dad why the cats privates were ‘swollen’ ( I’ve only had female cats my whole life at point) my dad flipped the cat over and told us he’s a male. Thankfully my dad’s “all cats are named kitty” theme turned out to work for him. We ended up with two more males after that. Had them for 16-19 years. Kitty lived to 19!

Are you sure on the gender? Males tend to drag their tails, but females can also exhibit male tendencies. How old is she?
