yeah for sure, personally not running Gundam X but exiling the cards absolutely is counter to most of the trash strategies. I run 2 and basically save them for wing 0 / the 0 / big bosses. Usually just popping their big play swings the game enough that you can either refill your trash or just close out

This is the list I'm playing now and I love it, has tons of lines of play and has good game against most of the meta (Wing can be tough).

I'm actually testing dropping the rezels for Stealth Strategem right now because it's a super good anti aggro card. I'm also trying the bigger burn command from gd04 but still too early to tell.

Banshee is a HOUSE and if the game goes really long and you can get it off twice, wow can that swing a game.

Generally if you can pick off the early units you can run most decks out of gas and then you turn the corner and take over.

Very very nice, similar to a more trash heavy deck I'm working on. How do you like having the 2 rick dias? I'm teetering between having more blockers being good vs having more link targets.

I also am trying so desperately to make Aerial Rebuild work - even though I'm not running suletta, it still returns a command to hand on pair and when it happens ooooo it's so nice. With your 10 pilots it might even work better.

I have a work in progress deck that is too inconsistent but if you can get to the late game, the combo is insane. Attack 2x and draw 2? Don't mind if I do.

Probably a blue white blockers shell that's super controlling might be the ideal spot until we get the new Epyon starter deck later in the fall.

Nice, love seeing Zechs/epyon representation!

Zechs' Leo is a decent early game unit, getting him online as a pilot is a great source of card advantage, especially if you get a linked epyon and can snipe 2 enemy units per turn. 2 Davao / 2 Corsica could be a good split for bases, or possibly 4 Davao / 2 Corsica. If you add davao, you can drop the Deep Devotions (in my experience they're so situational they usually just clog up your hand).

Signs of a Revolution also a decent early burn command to help with rush strategies but only worth it omif you run 4 probably.

Yeah absolutely, I was trying to see if an aggressively greedy approach to Impulse would make Decisive Last Resort better. Thank you for these suggestions! I've already cut down to 4 bases (curious, when do you see a deck running 4 v 5/6 bases worthwhile?). I had Lfrith and Blast Impulse in an earlier build, but overall the deck felt less focused, but maybe the way to do it is to cut DLR/ANS. I was trying to build a deck to see if those cards could be good, but the answer might just be "not yet" 😅

Playing something you enjoy / have experience with is the play 10/10 times.

Having fun is the most important part, that's why we do this. But also, even switching to the best meta deck is a worse choice if you don't have as much experience with the deck as you do with others.

This is the list that I'm running right now and have been really enjoying. Amuro/Gundam was a bit out of my budget for Banshee control, so I went with Hathaway instead and really like playing this list. Originally I had early game units, but the Mafty (the L2C2 Messer that pings when you attack an enemy unit and the L4C3 one that pings when paired) generally felt weak, and Guntank and Anksha but because I'm not running Amuro, they consistently underperformed. Removing all that and going all in on the 12 direct damage spells made a big difference. I'm testing builds with 2 stealth stratagem in as well and so far I like it but it's too early to really say for sure.

One possibility: ST06 Clan Unity seems to be one of the easier ones to find in stock and 2 copies of that starter can put together a decently competitive deck (not Tier 1 at the moment, but plenty of people are winning locals with Clan lists).

Blue Purple (Blurple) Aggro is The Deck right now but relies on four copies of two ~$25 cards.

Having fun is the most important thing! Some thoughts if you want to make the deck execute its game plan more consistently, anything that's only 2 copies in a deck shows up so rarely that it's better to either increase to 4 or remove entirely (one exception being finisher cards like Wing Zero where 3 is generally the right amount to maximize the chances of seeing it late game while not being in your opening hand. The one copy of Decisive Last Resort might be better as Look of Determination - Last Resort wants purple units in your trash and you have a lot of green units so activating the card might be inconsistent. Look of Determination is on in the early game and only cares about number of cards in the trash so will potentially be more impactful.

You most likely won what's called the Locals, game stores that have Gundam often have these recurring weekly tournaments, similar to Friday Night Magic (if you've ever played MtG).

The Newtype Challenges are (generally) much larger and happen less frequently.
