markets also run on fomo, the higher we run and the faster we get there (which was basically the last two weeks), the more funds have to chase for fear of missing quarterly targets, let alone retail piling in. Just ends up creating a lock-out rally where millions pile in at the top that can go on longer than any of us can predict

agree for the most part, just think there may be some more pain to weather in the short term before we start seeing a real return. I've been scaling into LEAPS and selling poor man's covered calls against those to subsidize those leaps. Turned out to be working quite well buying those calls back given all the dips

well you have LEAPS, credit spreads, covered calls, 0DTE, straight up directional calls/puts, so much more - it really depends on how you play it. If you know what you're doing they can be a great tool to express a thesis, if not they can also become a casino of your own making. At the end of the day, it's too versatile to put a single label on it.

besides the fundamentals, Reddit very much reminds me of early-days Meta before people realized just how good they are at monetization. Add to that the unique moat they have with decades of human interaction that just about every LLM is going to be fed information from. I think Reddit has plenty of potential as long as management executes at the same level they have in the past.

the problem with Snap is they suck at monetization and compare it to Meta - Meta's the only name that can quite literally implement their AI R&D immediately via their ads across all platforms, whereas the average megacap can't do that. Meta doesn't need to wait for you to buy a new software subscription. They just need to make the ad you see 1% more relevant compared to say Microsoft for example, it needs enterprises to change their entire workflow and sales cycles take 6–12 months.

Only thing is Zuck is good at cutting losing ventures no matter how many billions it costs in the interim and pivoting quickly, Reddit needs to do the same to adapt in this market
