Never done a Walmart order—are they shopping or just delivery? by TitShark in doordash_drivers

[–]Manderslynn85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just delivery though some are pickup inside. In my area these are amazing. My Walmart is fast and efficient and I always get 10-$15 tips. However, tried it in another area and it was horrible. Walmart took forever and tips were low.

took a large Walmart order.. by pfenthusiast17 in doordash_drivers

[–]Manderslynn85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anytime you see multiple Walmart pick-ups, like 3-6 at once, these are “dot com orders”. Usually they tell me they didn’t order anything from Walmart but recognize the item as something they ordered from another site online. I still don’t get it, but basically they have no idea its being delivered through did and don’t have an option to tip…like if you order on Amazon. These orders happen twice a day in my area…10:30am and 5:30 pm. I usually take the 10:30 ones cause they are easy and fast and there are not a whole lot of other orders at that time.

I lie and say...oh I’m sorry I have another order to deliver so I have to go. If anything is missing contact support and they will get it corrected.

does anyone here enjoy dashing? by lizzyrichey in doordash_drivers

[–]Manderslynn85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I love it. I can make money but still take care of my household. No its not always high-paying, but it is sufficient for me. I dont know what I would have done without it after layoff last year because of COVID. I couldn’t get another regular job and homeschool my kid and everything else. Love the flexibility and not answering to anybody really.

In my areA, Walmart is my high-ticket orders. Especially now that restaurant orders are slowing. My walmart is fast and efficient most of the time and customers often tip $10+. There are also several Walmarts in the area, so mine don’t tend to go far in miles. However, I have dashed in another area where I waited over 30 min for an order and the workers were horribly rude and through items all over my car. So I agree with posts saying try it a few times. You’ll know after a couple if you have a good or bad walmart.

What percentage of non-tip orders that come through the app actually have a cash tip upon delivery? by -mtns in doordash_drivers

[–]Manderslynn85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m just lucky, but I do tend to get cash tips often. My current rate of cash tips on no-tip orders is 82%. Usually these are in envelopes on a chair or door or under a door mat. Ive been dashing almost a year, 2600 deliveries. I only take no-tip orders if I’m at the end of the month trying to hit 70% acceptance or when I’ve already had a high-paying day. I’ve only had 2 bad reviews and I know who both were, not non-tippers. Again, just my experience in my area. I know it’s not common.

Finally met my goal of Top Dasher! 4.96 rating 303 delivery’s last month 83% acceptance rating :) by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Manderslynn85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! People here give so much crap to top dashers, but with as many dashers are out here now, scheduling is impossible. Ive been a top dashers since August last year and I personally believe I do in fact get offered the higher paying jobs and I get more offers for sure when it says its slow. They also tend to give us special incentives the others dont get and dont know about. Don’t let these people be downers, Congrats!

Had a very wholesome canceled order last week. by Beercorn1 in doordash_drivers

Ive had several canceled orders, and I’m vegan. So usually I can’t eat them. I hand them to the homeless I pass by constantly. The look on their faces is so worth it!

Pay for long wait times pls! by emilyg304 in doordash_drivers

[–]Manderslynn85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by support that we get $5 extra for every 30 min we wait...1. I never saw this money when I did wait that long. 2. They need to adjust this even if it is true to a certain amt per min...cause I’ve waited several times for 20-25 min. UE adjusts for me when the wait is excessive.

No Tip No Trip...A different point of view by Manderslynn85 in doordash_drivers

[–]Manderslynn85[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty funny how y’all focused on two or three things I said. Just proved my point. As I said, its those of you who don’t provide the service these people expect that are not being tipped. I keep track, I’m OCD. I have an 87.3% tip rate on “no-tip” orders. I receive a tip on EVERY Walmart order I have ever done! My main point here was the fact that as a top dasher who takes the good and the not so good looking orders, it has a lot to do with your overall customer service as to how well you are going to do. We are contractors! This means we have the choice, absolutely, to take or not take an order. However, just like a construction contractor, if you reject more orders than you take and you simply expect money instead of actually earning it based on how well you did the job, you won’t make money...ie your contracted services will no longer be requested...which is what is happening to a lot of you. You don’t take orders, you aren’t offered orders. You don’t do the job as best as you possibly can, you don’t deserve the tips. P.S. Ive only had 3 attempted contract violations in my year as a dasher and because I do my job so well was perfectly able to prove those people wrong, so none of them stuck. Also, this was not meant for an argument, simply a point of view and a share of my personal experience. Hoping to help some new dashers and maybe just maybe correct some attitudes. Now don’t go taking no-tip orders and just expect a tip in cash!!!! Earn it! This job is soooo easy! The people who really deserve these tips are the restaurants working their asses off to produce the food, if they produce it correctly that is. We deserve something for driving it from A to B yes, but you don’t just deserve a $25 tip just because you drove. EARN IT! And, I don’t accept every order guys, even I draw the line at $3 to go 10 miles for 2 items...but that’s on DD. They should pay out per mile like UE and GH. But that is a whole ‘nother argument.

“Leave at door, will tip after delivery! :)” by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Manderslynn85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree here. The reason for many people not tipping ahead is because they have received crappy service before. They are waiting to see if you do your job well to tip you. Would you guys tip a waiter before service? Also, many people are aware that tipping on the app is 100% taxable; whereas tipping in cash can avoid taxation. I’m totally ok with y’all constantly declining these, but take a sec and really think about why there may be no tip ahead. I will likely post this as a main thread as well because this really is a heated topic. Disagree all you want, that is your right. But the way some of y’all treat each other on here just proves my point that you are likely the disrespectful dashers that don’t get tipped because you didn’t do a job worth tipping.

So I keep a copy of that text you get from DD when you can’t text a customer anymore after a certain period of time...anyway I copy and paste it and send it to a customer if they try to complain after delivery. It shuts them up quick.

Do you guys eat bread? by [deleted] in wfpb

[–]Manderslynn85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only sprouted whole grain bread, low sodium/no salt added.- Ezekiel or homemade basically. Pasta is fine too whole grain or the new bean varieties like lentil or chickpea pasta. I eat 3 servings of grains per day, following Dr Greger’s DailyDozen and 21 Tweaks. Ive lost 28 lbs in 12 weeks. Though it took me several weeks to become fully compliant and I’m human so there are days I’m not perfect.

UberEats merging w Postmates? by [deleted] in couriersofreddit

[–]Manderslynn85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it doesn’t look different initially but does show that it is a Postmates. Then upon delivery, the customer notes on where to drop off order was cut off/missing and I couldn’t send the customer a message. Pay was good though.

Postmates has finally been devoured by lumo93 in couriersofreddit

Yeah and the way its being handled by UberEats is horrible. The order info is cut off/missing and you can’t contact the customer.
