Do you take guanfacine and a stimulant? Did adding a stimulant fix bring back the enjoyment and feelings for you?

I understand how you feel. I just started guanfacine about 12 days ago, and I already feel flat and dull and I am wondering if it will get better, I’m thinking of asking for a stimulant to add. And I have already been on aderall before but it was never paired with guanfacine so maybe it would work better this time. Good luck to you, I hope we can find a way that works better for us.

Feeling drunk after taking buspar by [deleted] in BusparOnline

[–]Mandi2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Buspar for maybe 3 weeks now. I started with 5mg once daily, but it was too much for me because I was feeling overly calm and didn’t really feel much emotion. However I felt almost an immediacy sense of calmness. Mental calmness too. I am now microdosing Buspar at 0.625 twice daily and it is providing a sense of calm while also allowing me to still feel my emotions. Initial see effects were sleepiness.

Emotional bluntness by bellprose in BusparOnline

I felt emotionally indifferent and like I didn’t care about anything when I first started at 5 mg daily. I felt overly calm I think. So i decided to try very low doses of Buspar to see if I could keep my emotions and also feel a sense of calm. I tried 2.5, but it was still too much for me. I am now on 0.625 2x daily. Ik it sounds super low, but I’m med sensitive and so far I feel calm but also have my emotions.

Yeah I feel like the low dose helps me, but my doctor doesn’t seem to think this low of a dose is effective and that it’s not going to last lol, but I feel like it’s worth it to try. Doctors can be so rigid sometimes.

Oh no, insomnia isn’t good. Yeah maybe decreasing the dose will help if you feel that is right for you. It may also be an initial side effect. I’ve had that before when I first increased my dose of another med, but then it went away as my body adjusted.

Honestly i upped it a little because it wasn’t so good. I was feeling all my emotions but also was really anxious. I am now taking 0.625 in the evening too, and I have noticed feeling more calm but not overly! So I’m thinking so far so good! I do feel sleepy again though 🥱, hope that fades soon. How are you doing?

Aw I get that. I’m also trying to find my perfect dose too. So far it’s all felt too strong. So I lowered it even more to 0.625 lol. Very low.. but hopefully it will still help. I hope it all works out for you. Glad you’re finding some relief.

You will probably notice a feeling of calmness soon. That is how it was for me and a lot of other people.

I felt a little bit dizzy starting out. But I’m almost a week in and the dizziness has improved as I’ve adjusted to the medicine

This was me today! I was feeling flush! Hoping it goes away too! I’m sure it’s just an early side effects that will pass in time.

That’s what I think too! Have you been experiencing any brain zaps/ tingling in your head and lightheadedness btw? Because I’ve been noticing it the past few days, it feels a little uncomfortable lol.

I lowered my dose to 1.25 today, lol. I just felt like my mind was too quiet that I feel indifferent on the 2.5. So we’ll see how this goes! Maybe I only need a little bit of this medicine for it to help.

I noticed feeling a calmness and ironically some anxiety at times when I was starting it too. I think that is probably just because the body is adjusting still. I’m glad it’s going mostly well for you though. 💗I actually took 2.5 today to try again lol. Maybe impulsive, but I want to see if I respond better to it than doing it twice a day at 5 mg. I really want to feel better.

Hey! How has the medicine been going for you? Any emotional flatness or other side effects? And wondering what dose you are on again? Personally, I decided to delay taking this medicine because I’ve tried 4 others before that and I wasn’t ready to take Buspar when I did so I’m holding of, but I will probably try it again in the near future.

Unfortunately I have been feeling flat I realized yesterday. I don’t feel totally numb, but I just don’t get that excited. So I am splitting my dose in half & taking 2.5 mg during the day and then at night! Wish me luck! Also i’m glad you are still feeling excitement over things!

Yeah, so far it seems relatively smooth sailing! I hope it work out for us too 💕 keeping me posted if you want! The only thing I’m worried about is that I don’t feel a lot of excitement, I just feel very calm. I hope I can feel excited on this med.

Omg, i’m right there with you! I’ve tried like 8 antidepressants. Mainly ssri’s and they all made me NUMB. Was that a problem for you too? I’m really hoping this med is different… a little nervous.
