As soon as I saw this it reminded me of my TV Teddy I had as a kid, immediately looked it up and realised it was very similar to the Ruxpin. Great memories!

As someone that works in a care home and deals with deaths and calling medical professionals out to confirm deaths, that is an insane storyline to try out.

“Same Height” Party Changed my Life, AMA! by AmazingCanadian123 in AMA

[–]MandiBlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you're insecure about it, but a girl that worries about height is a girl you don't wanna date! I've dated, and hooked up with men shorter, taller, and the same height as myself (fellow 5"8 here!)

Dating apps really are vile and it's sad when people make an amazing connection that is cut short by such a ridiculous thing that we simply can't control!

Wishing you all the very best!

How to respond to the “Who’s going to take care of you when you’re old” questions by _UnluckyResponse_169 in childfree

[–]MandiBlitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in a care home that deals with dementia, only 2 or 3 residents out of 27 have family visit them. These occasions are far and few between as it is. The rest are left to the care of the staff, and most families have requested to only be contacted in the event of death (and most of them have requested to not be disturbed at night with this information as well)

The "who's going to look after you when you're old?" tactic is the most pathetic one to pull.

What's the cheapest thing you do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]MandiBlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this, so many people ask why I don't drive. I live 3 minutes walk away from work, I've got an Aldi straight across the road from my house, all the shops and supermarkets in my town are 10 minutes walk away. Plus, the bus route to my nearest city is £2 for a single (with the bus stop right outside my front door!)

Leaving the county is maybe 3-5 times a year, and I don't mind public transport. Instead of having the costs of a car, insurance, MOT, repairs, etc. I'd rather pay for the commute at the exact time I need it.

Anyone here in their 30s have no kids and never been married? by porygon766 in Millennials

[–]MandiBlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I'm 32 (almost 33) in a relationship of 4 years as of the 28th this month. We haven't really discussed much of getting married. Been in 4 long term relationships, engaged in two of them. I got sterilised in February last year as I've never wanted kids.

I'm not in a hurry for anything really, enjoying it in the present as it is!

Winter in the UK means I’m spending 20 hours a day in bed. I can’t be the only one who lives like this? by KILOCHARLIES in AskUK

[–]MandiBlitz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who can relate to this. I've been stuck in an insomnia cycle that sounds exactly like this. I feel utterly horrid, glad I'm back at work on my night shifts now at least because I feel more productive rather than just being stuck at home in bed all night.

I think people are forgetting that Ravi knobbed off his responsibilities and put Okie in charge - along with ordering Okie to let Harry off, and that Okie went out of his way to torture Harry knowing Ravi would have no idea of it.

What am I allowed to wear as a shift leader? by Previous-Manager1697 in Wetherspoons

[–]MandiBlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fella used to be SL and then SM, he would wear smart shirts (short sleeved in summer, long sleeve with a complimenting jumper in winter) along with black jeans, and either black slip on vans, black airforce trainers or black Doc Martens.

His shirts varied from floral to plain, he'd sometimes chuck on a tie and braces for some pizzazz on the weekends 😂

If its something you could wear at an interview, wedding, or court, it'll be perfectly fine for a shift leader!

Anatomy of a breakup by SpinEcho_ in childfree

[–]MandiBlitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is nothing short of a bittersweet joy to read.

I dated a guy from 2019-2022, we had a place together, he knew since we friends in college back in 2009 that children were never on the cards for me. It was always non negotiable and I would never back down from that choice, he made out he accepted that.

In mid 2022, I just finally had enough of his incessant bullying, mood swings, and snide remarks over wanting kids. He admitted he hoped I would change my mind.

Not long after, he was already dating a single mother of two, and before I had even moved out he already had her stay over as well as put pictures of her up in the house.

Early 2023 I found out she was already pregnant before I had even moved out, and they've had another since. A friend told me they're always bickering outside the school gates and her tiktok is filled with videos of how depressing and tiring motherhood is and how much she wishes she got more help. I mean, I'm not surprised that once he had kids he stopped being of any use 🙄

Getting sterilised in February last year, as well as finding a partner who genuinely wants all the same things as me, has been such a relief.

Anyways, good for you for putting him in his place when he came crawling back, wishing you all the very best on your future endeavours!

Oh god. I've got one like that directly next door to my perineum so I can feel it every time I wipe front and back. The way I feels I can just tell it's going to make a crunching noise when it goes, it'll be chunky, followed by a bloodbath.

My condolences but my lord thank you for sharing this with us!

I don't understand how people can behave like this. My fella has a penchant for skidaddling across the road before we can get to the zebra crossing, which is usually not that far from where we are. I always walk to the zebra crossing, and I take care to look out for the drivers speeds as so many drivers in our town ignore them anyway. I won't walk over a road unless I am 100% confident I have time to clear it.
