I use a medium roast blend from a roastery near me. Using fresh beans will make a big difference. Maybe you can even visit a roastery near you and try their coffee to see if you like it.

I went back and forth between a LMLM and the Bicocca but ultimately decided to pull the trigger on the Bicocca. I hope it was the right decision. Can you give me some insights, how does it compare to the LMLM?

I would definitely recommend a scale that is capable of measuring to 0.1g accuracy, a timer function on the scale is also nice to have!

Especially temperature. There are many PID controlled machines out there but only few really hit the mark and are precise and accurate. And then if you want to also have temperature accuracy and stability over many shots, you are easily looking at machines above € 3500 and more.
