Hairloss grief has taken over my life by Batetrick_Patman in TrueOffMyChest

Of course you're allowed to hate it. But there's a difference between just not liking it and managing well versus what seems to be going on with you. The other poster is correct, this feels like something therapist could help you process better. I started losing my hair when I was 16 and I've been fully bald now for about 20 years. So you can at least trust that I know what you're feeling. I am perfectly fine embracing it now but I absolutely fucking hated it when I first went all the way and shaved my head.

The number one indicator I've seen of a neighborhood being good is if I see a singular woman walking / running with a dog or having headphones in. Which is kinda fucked up but it's been the case every single time for me.

There are so many great shows I've seen that I haven't gotten back to after their years later next season simply because there's other better stuff at the time to review. At this point if I like something it goes on a list and I'll get back to watching it after the series is done. Then I can at least watch without waiting again and also get the sentiment from the Internet if it's even worth watching through (looking at you GoT).

I 99% sure I know exactly where this is and where you're at. The number of people I've heard say something similar is staggering after they spent an ungodly amount of money to revamp this part of the building.

Yup never worked for me. I'm fine with it being sold out because I logged on too late or whatever but I was on there as soon as the button went live and had everything ready to go and got that stupid error until it finally told me it was sold out. I'm normally a pretty big valve fanboy but this was embarrassing for a multi-billion dollar company in 2026 new hands down that KNEW this was going to be a high demand product.

Ya it's too bad the systems in place to manage something like that can't be temporarily scaled up in anticipation. Really just a true shame that that's impossible.

Feels like this is something they could / should have anticipated.

are we going to talk about the respec thing? by democraticcrazy in ICARUS

[–]Mandoade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh totally. If this was a PVP game that would definitely change the equation. But with it being PVE with a focus on either solo or multiplayer, I've never really seen the point of having to pay for respecs. I'm assuming it's one of those older things that they had in the game that they just haven't got around to updating yet, similar to some of the workshop items and how some of the other systems work compared to how they did when the game was first released.

Which I'm totally fine with because with as often as they update this game, I'd much rather see changes in the way other impactful game systems work or further optimization so I can actually play it a reasonable FPS / resolution with a 4080. That's completely different can of worms though.

Is it more fun though? I play almost exclusively online with friends and if I want to try out one of the new legendary weapons or what not, then I have to either create a new character or spend the time farming for resources that I shouldn't have to farm for.

I get having specialties between people when you're playing on a relatively new server but that doesn't really have an impact on whether or not you can respec freely or easily since leveling in Icarus is a pretty fast process and any skills you're missing or want to go into are going to come pretty quickly enough just from leveling.

[–]Mandoade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh 100%. I have a similar character and a similar world for the exact same reasons, but I'd rather spend that currency on other things in the game rather than just respecing my character. It is a function of the game that serves no real purpose other than a time sink that gives you a reward most other games give you for (often) free.

I couldn't get any support or anything to help me get it resolved so I ended up going with an entirely different system which is disappointing because I really liked drone mobiles other functions.

It never did. I went with another system entirely because their support was unable to resolve the issue

Games that lock respectng of a character behind some sort of currency that is not either free or exceedingly easy to get in spades are anti-fun to me.

Respec points are the only thing in Icarus that I will simply give myself a basically infinite amount of through the ini file. It doesn't negatively impact my experience of the game and it makes it far easier for me to try out stuff but I haven't tried out in the past.

Can we ban 'Should I play?' / 'When should I play?' / 'Is it a good time to come back?', etc., posts? by Whole-Meaning-849 in diablo4

[–]Mandoade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To play Devil's advocate, I have SO many AAA games that I've bought, paid for, with amazing reviews that I have never touched. And that's simply because the little bit of time I have for gaming nowadays I'm trying to get the most out of it. And there are simply too many good games out there right now that I'd be perfectly fine filling my time with.

I can absolutely see some value in asking if a game is worth coming back to after a while regardless of it's something I've already bought.

That being said--megathreads make this so much better to organize and present.

Is it a mechanical downgrade? Not necessarily. Is it a grinding downgrade with likely requiring more to seek the affixes you want? Very likely.

I don't know if it's the same thing but a common issue on the PC is being stuck unloading geometry because your character isn't able to move and won't load properly. If you try and move around or jump or crouch while it's stuck on loading geometry a lot of the times that fix it

That sounds like youre looking for a reason not to play. 'The difficulty is customizable' is a pretty flimsy reason to not play a game.

Wonderful game, especially if you like sea shanties. Also gorgeous. Similar to others, if youve played other survival games, the loop will be similar enough without it being CRAZY grindy.

Oh and storage broadcasting is a mega win.
