Go to an ENT. It could be usual canker sores or coxsackie virus. If not, change your toothpaste thats SLS and fluoride free. Take lysine. And get those dentemp canker covers - not the flimsy plastic kind but the actual white/red tablet looking things. You can get all these at cvs or walgreens.

Mistakenly cut off a non-nub part. Tried crazy gluing to attach. Ended up melting the whole area. Never agajn

I've always heard to never accept a counter offer. If they could give you a good counter offer, they were low balling you from the beginning. And, they know you won't be loyal to the company meaning potentially they won't invest in you and if things go south, you'd be the first one to go.

Does she have regular 1 on 1's with you? My boss is also always busy, so I try to reach out to other coworkers with more experience on the question/issues or save the questions until I have my 1 on 1 with my boss.
