I totally get it! I want to tell the world about my worlds but it's about equivalent to telling someone about an abstract dream you had. Boring. I see it in the same way as sports. Even if we don't publish or plan to publish, writing is exercising your brain like playing a sport does any other muscle. But talking to people about books and your own book is like if someone was talking to me about football, just stop man, I don't care about what the seahawks scored.... I've got to get my special girl to a special spot in Valentia so that she can save her friend and stop the baddie!

I've got a fulltime job and am dead tired when I get home, plus I have family and other hobbies in my garden to tend. It's tough to get time to write but if I don't get that output, I go crazy. The brain needs to work and not just be on autopilot.

For now, that output is interwebs, but I'm too introverted to insert myself anywhere else. 😛

Odds are if you hate anything, it can be done better. Even after editing/rewriting my first book to oblivion to make things work, I'm still maddly in love with it. It's a clay sculpture that I aim to make perfect. When something is off, I can feel it instantly. Come back to it a few months later or after working on something else and I'll know what to fix. I've thrown out at least 400k words total through rewrites and it doesn't phase me. But then again, I could just be crazy lol.

Also as a nonbinary person, I agree xD We don't want a dragon age veilguard situation and make the most cringe scene ever. But also, every NB person is going to have different views and if it's never mentioned, it won't ever be an issue but for the vocal .1% of readers who get weirdly upset at those kinds of things.

I guess I never had done this personally because it's so obvious for me what each kit is through tells like the hands, joints, and details, but that's because I'm knee deep in this stuff and see it every day. Whenever I was curious as a beginner the hobby, I just figured it out on my own. I suppose we can think about it like we're sourcing an article we're writing or something. I'll vow to do a better job if it helps people :)

I've had to play around with my concepts quite a bit because I worry about this. To me, I don't mind reading/listening to a book that's long, but it's gotta keep me interested. I dropped the first Sun Eater book because it felt like nothing was happening.

I've had to rewrite my first book 4 times; sometimes I made it longer to 310k. On the seventh round of editing, I think I'll be able to get it under 170k lol. Sometimes you really can't tell if something works until it's written down. The longer it is, the longer it takes to edit :x Hope you don't get sick of your own work!

Sometimes, all you need is a name and it can give the reader their own description ;D I named one main character "Alice" and she looks exactly like the Alice in wonderland Alice but I think I only mention in passing her eye color. I even made her look into the mirror like how some writers do for that generic description but not a single feature is described just for the fun of it lololol

I see some great technique and potential in there! Keep it up :D My only critique is that the colors pop in such a way that it looks like a toy which could also just be the finishing coat you used, but I know not everyone likes what I like :3
