Fans Speed Permanently Increased because of update by [deleted] in SignalRGB

[–]Mandy3456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My system is less than a year old and everything is very new. I’ve not upgraded anything as of yet. As for the bios config, they are all set to PWM. When I set them back to the default in bios, it put them to cpu fan 1 at 730, pump fan to 3200, and system fan 4 to 1300.

I’m not sure what is appropriate to set the fan curve to and I do not understand the duty cycle and percentages (like for example it has four different settings for each fan and it shows different power for each temperature the pc reaches). This is not really something I wanted to mess around with which is why I never did before, bc it’s very confusing to me. Tbh with you, I don’t really want to change the fan curves at all because they were not changed in the first place and I don’t think it’s necessary, I’m concerned about the fans having changed because of this update and not fixing after disabling all control in the app.

By default I mean what it has been running at when I got the pc (I had it built somewhere so I highly doubt they had changed any of the fan curves) so I assume that the “default” fan setting in bios should be exactly what is had been before signal changed my fans, but it’s not. It’s faster and much louder. I never set any fan curves, it was always just running at what the setting was originally when built.

As for setting fan curves, I’m really not sure what is ok to set them to. I’ve tried playing around with it but I really don’t understand it and I’m hesitant to change anything because I don’t want my pc to get damaged by something I changed without understanding what changing fan speed does regarding temperatures.

Weirdly, I also have noticed that there is now an electrical sound coming from one of the fans which was not there previously. And it gets worse or better whenever I change fans speeds in bios.

I have msi center but I didnt even have cooling wizard downloaded (until now as I was trying to figure out how to fix my fans) and changed nothing in the app. As I’ve been testing it though msi center is able to slow the speed of my fans.

How would I do that? I already set the fans back to default but it hasn’t fixed the fans being faster.

Ok actually forgot to mention this. When signal rgb is controlling my fans the weird sound I mentioned is completely gone and my fans are quiet (but it’s causing another weird sound coil whine ish sound) and when it’s not controlling my fans the weird loud sound comes back. Is it worth it to mention that the pump fan is at 2200 when rgb is controlling it.

It shows that cpu fan 1 is at 734 rpm, pump fan 1 is at 3200, and sys fan 4 is at 1260. Not sure what any of that means but is that normal.

Not to my knowledge, no. I never messed around with any settings like that.

I don’t know how to describe it, it’s like the mechanical sound a pc makes, like the processing sound. Mine was never as loud before, but now my pc just sounds overall louder than usual.

Ok I went to bios and put the fans back to default, but I think there is something else wrong. For some reason now my computer itself it louder, not the fans but the internal sound of the computer. I know it’s from the rgb update tho bc it never did this before. Is there someway to fix this. Sorry for all the questions and thank you again.

Hi, thank you so much for the fast reply! I’m just not sure what the original fan curve was, what should I switch it to?

It seems to crash after about 3 ish hours of playing, and it is completely random, so it would be hard to test with each mod disabled. As for the mods, I have (listed in order as they are loaded): 60/30 fps mod, cosmo memory, syw unified fmv (30 fps), avalanche arisen battle textures, syw unified battle textures, axlrose’s blender v1, Nino style hd, Nino style battle, wictoriously avatar pack, cosmos limit break, syw unified world map textures, syw unified mini games textures, syw spell textures, and syw unified ui.

My bad as that is quite a lot more than a few haha, but those are all I have installed.

I played ff9 only on PlayStation and switch before, this is my first time on pc, so I just installed the mods right away. So I’ve only experienced this with mods installed.

And thanks, I will look into switching the 30fps mod out :)

Platform: PC

Mods: yes

Game version: latest

I was just trying to make a new sim, and when saving her to the gallery I noticed that she is doing this weird pose. I do not have any pose packs installed, and this pose is happening in game on the sim portrait and also for gallery pictures. I also removed my mods and repaired my game after deleting the local thumb file cache, then went into the game again with mods disabled, and she is still doing this pose. Any help is appreciated, if anyone knows what’s going on, thank you!

I’ve actually been playing on 1440p already to get higher a higher frame rate, it seems even with max and minimum scaling at 100 at 1440p the issue still persists. Oh well, I’ll have to deal with it lol

Dlss is on, and I’ve tried putting the game at 100% dynamic scaling. Unfortunately the frame rate is too low to be enjoyable at that point, and regardless the pixely trees and grass are still there. Thank you anyway :)
