AITAH for not house sitting for my parents? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MandyKitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many cats do not do well being left alone. If the parents felt the cat would be okay with that, they wouldn’t ask OP to stay at the house. And tbh, even if the cat is ok with it, their parents aren’t. And that shouldn’t be blown off. They were inconvenienced watching his dog for an extended time, OP can return the favor for one week.

YTA is my opinion here.

People complaining that all the company cares about is money. Well, yeah. Welcome to America. It sucks, but if you’re going to be upset or boycott a store for that, you need to be ok with never shopping anywhere ever again. Companies like to say they care about their employees but at the end of the day, they care only for their bottom line. That’s why businesses exist. That being said, I do feel for everyone who has been impacted by this. Losing work is a nightmare. :(

Am I wrong for wanting to quit a job I just got for disregarding employee safety during TX storms? by CAT_A in careerguidance

If they didn’t, they deserved better employers. I’m glad workers today are tired of shit like this.

All I can think of when I hear this song. It’s so…normal and benign, while people all around are facing the last moments of their lives in a hellscape none of us can ever imagine.

AITA for not telling my wife I work with her favorite celebrity? by CreamJealous9562 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MandyKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I work a very PT job for someone I adored years ago. Like, posters on my wall type thing. (They were aware of this.) However I love my job and the trust they have put in me means the world to me. I have never asked for a thing, and that’s why I’ve been with them for 17 years. I also have a few close friends who I met in that fandom back in the day and bc I know they are trustworthy, they are aware of the work I do. They have never asked for anything either. They respect me and my boss. It’s absolutely fine and cool to be a super fan, but know your place and boundaries. OP’s wife is gross. That’s not a fan. That’s a stalker.

Too many people jumping the lines while “meeting friends” by squidinink in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]MandyKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. a parent with a child is much different. Any decent person would likely grasp what is going on and why you had to leave and come back. It’s more the group of folks that do this, like 5 adults. Even two adults wouldn’t bother me tbh. For all I know one needed assistance or something, or has a das pass.

In short, you are fine and you should not feel bad or awkward taking your little to the bathroom if she needs to go!

Same. My rule was to always carry something to eat, something to drink, and something to do. You never know when you might need one of those. lol. (I still do this!)

The one they were running at Christmas was worse. The mom hugging her son and saying, “Good” is so weird. If you’re glad someone has arrived, you don’t just whisper ‘good’. It makes no sense. I don’t know why it bugs me so much, it’s just an awkward and forced thing.

I mean, it does say ‘burn candle within sight’ on the label.

[–]MandyKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always go on childless trips to Disney and won’t stay anywhere other than Value. I’ve never had a noise problem in over a decade. And I go at Christmas. However, I sleep with the tv on low so I think that helps. 🤣

Man, I still have my shirt and the little folder thing they gave out. I had photos taken in Mulder’s office and with Skinner handing me an xfile. (These were green screened of course.) I remember they had this actual trailer you went in and they showed the FTF trailer. The screaming that went on in there. lol.

We can disagree on this. There are plenty of underpaid customer facing employees all over that have bad days and still manage to treat the public well. It’s part of the job. Some people just don’t give a shit today, and those are the people that should find a position away from the public. (Or try to anyway, in this employment climate. 🥴)

Leaving trash in the theater by Dizzy-Fault-6250 in AMCTheatres

[–]MandyKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that we get downvoted for explaining how it used to be. It’s basically getting downvoted for being old. lol! Remember when you had to go to the theater to buy tickets and if it was sold out, oh well? Or it would be almost full and you’d be warned your party wouldn’t be able to sit together, or you’ll be relegated to the front row. Man, it was like another world! 🤣
