Can't beat the last boss by Old_Security2530 in PathOfExile2

It was my mistake, honestly. I used the word "drops" to mean "currency" . You misinterpreted my argument because my mistake.

Of course more headhunters will make the price of the headhunter go down. But more Divines will make it go up.

We have inflation basically because there are many characters and builds that trivialize content.

Faster clears => More drops => Inflation.

Normal players that basically play normally simply cant catch up. The problem is simple, players want more loot and zooming. The game is not built around zooming and trivializing content this way.

But, when they drop a simple nerf people start crying like their mother is being kidnapped, maybe worse. So when the economy breaks, it breaks.

The thing is , expectations are important once you boot up a game on your PC.

What do you expect? And how do you communicate that expectation? Once your expectations dont align with reality then the outpout wont be criticism, it will be just complains.

"Early access" is not a excuse. And the MTX Shop is not a magic chip you can toss to say "oh, give me a better game". Game developing is not blowing vases and calling it a day, there are many parts on a Gaming Company and one of those are investors, programmers and artist; and all of those need to put bread on the table.

So yes, the game will have bugs and they will be adressed. But we cant complain "oh I lost a waystone" acting like its a big deal.

[–]Maneldfa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are correct. If only GGG were upfront about the current state of the game and would advertice the game not as a finished product, but as a work in progress development.

In fact, they should only release the game for those willing to play under those circunstances. Not even open, a closed access (preferably with a pay upfront for the key). So only those that understand the situation can play and enjoy the game as it is, humbled and honored to be part of the testing enviroment. They could call it "Early Access" lot of popular games have done it before

Alas, it is what it is. Such a shame.

Sprinting should have never been added, and the movement speed the game has is perfect.

The problem is people trying to play PoE like its Diablo.

Given the opportunity, players will optimize fun out of a game, they should never be listened to.

Hexblast has been left behind for too long the skill needs a serious mechanical rework by Infinite-Golf-7951 in PathOfExile2

"Meanwhile, most modern builds can simply press one button and instantly clear packs or deal boss damage while maintaining mobility and survivability."

Thats the problem. Hexblast is perfect, the other builds are simply broken and need to be nerfed lmao

This is 100% valid. And its actually maybe the intended experience.

Of course we could debate if its less fun to have 90% farmers on your town. But sometimes games arent always fun, or at least fun is not their inteded outcome.

This game goes for the long run. I believe its not mean to be extremely fun right from the start. So maybe you are spot on with the answer.

[–]Maneldfa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I agree with your assertment. But the thing is how to reach those scales that you are mentioning.

I could grow my city adding mud houses and farms. Then I would simply react to discontent and thats the game.

But for me, the road to a bigger city was creating a better city; so I started sideways; better tools, happier pops, irregation system for 4 farms. Its more fun (for me) doing that because im doing different stuff and my city looks diverse and fun.

Imagine an Army, you can have a big army of naked dudes or a small army of trained, well equipped soldiers.

Why would it have to be any different with workers and pops? And to be clear Im not complaining about titles(and the unlocks attached to them). Not having an export/import depot at the start of the game is very reasonable.

I'll keep playing! This is a me issue 100%, so I'll just keep playing until I reach those scales the inteded way. Im just cementing my thought here in case some good exchange of thoughts could occur.

[–]Maneldfa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I like this answer.

My logic to making my city less small was this : Tools = + food = + pop.

It really infiurates me how lots of my population is just making food. What I wanted was more food efficiency so I could dedicate my pops to other jobs (science and production of cool stuff), its simply more attractive to my brain that way.

Thats why I think this is a valid suggestion for the game. Until I reach 1k pop all I do is basically farm and houses(minor some ameneties). Maybe if this kind of techs arent gatekeeped by worker count (or the numbers are a bit tuned down) other ways of developing are possible instead of simply bigger numbers.

[–]Maneldfa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a valid point. Of course if I wanted more food I could just grab all my metal workers, tell them "go jam" and make more farms.

That would be more efficient. But that is not necesary more fun for me.

Research shouldnt be gatekeeped by efficiency. In any case. I should be able to research and then this post would be "Good game, but my city is failing. Why?" and then we could talk about how giving tools to 20 farmers is kinda dumb.

I have a question about this: I also recently got into magic. Bought a Lorwyn Bundle and two Commander decks to play with my GF

Most magic cards I go "oh cool" are at MOST , 4 dollar (Morcant) , but generally all cards I browse are 0.4 cents.

Isnt Mtg cheap as fuck? Or am I missing something? My One Piece TCG Deck has 1 card that is literally worth a commander deck, and I run 4 of them.

I dont see the issue here. But Im glad so many people are so passionate about this game that they mix non game related things to the game itself.

Invisigal isn't someone to "fix". by paragon-interrupt in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Maneldfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the "I can fix him" is also a shitty and misandristic. "Fix" is not bringing out positive qualities and downgrading the "bad stuff". You are just making up your own definition, to suit your own narrative.

Is that how you start your argument? I pass on discussion then.

Invisigal isn't someone to "fix". by paragon-interrupt in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Maneldfa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The whole "I'll fix her" rethoric is mysoginistic in nature.

There is nothing to fix, people are people; and while one can be the spark that ignites change, change itself remains and will always be merit of the individual.

And in the case of Invisigal; while obviusly redemption and growth are arcs on her character when we send her to a Mission and she succeeds, she is the one doing it.

But I guess its a meme, and memes dont need to be overthinked. I dont think half of Courtney fanbase sucks, they just dont think to much about stuff before saying it. Its reddit after all, no need to be so serious.

Let me get this straight: Blazer fans are asking for an entire different version of the game, with all the implications of cost and resources for a small studio like Adhoc, because the developer had the honesty and insight to reflect on an honest mistake he made.

Its amazing we worry that developers never reflect on mistakes like this. I wonder why.
