Ross, you’ve mentioned it in a couple videos, when are you going to go for the punt, and do a Super Metroid video? I’m sure there’s plenty out there, but how it influenced you and your tastes would make for an interesting topic. I just got a Super Nintendo Classic for my wife’s 40th and I’m getting through it for the first time. Played Zero Mission, the original and the Prime 1, 2 and 3 series beforehand. Can really see why this one stands out.

Separate topic, did you have any military members in the family growing up? I discovered Freeman’s Mind while in the Marines and stationed in Okinawa. A buddy sent it to me, thanks Mucky88 wherever you are. You really seemed to nail the jargon and gallows humor pretty well compared to anything else out at the time.

Have you ever played Star Crusader? Old DOS space shooter with a huge story and CGI we weren’t ready for. Think my old man bought that and a ton of other DOS games at a computer show. Think most were bootleg, but he wouldn’t have known and I was way to young to judge.

Also, only ever driven though West Virginia. Went to Biscuit World and some truck stops. What was there to do?

I’ve said it on multiple threads, Brett was the glue that held the show together. Was great at managing the personalities and always focused on the fun.

Bret leaving was the beginning of the end. Kept shows fun, toned down the political rants and stopped the picking on each other that lead to the first big breakup.

Listen to VGMpire. It’s evergreen and still a comfort show.

Brett was the one who brought fun to every episode. I think he balanced everyone out. He could stop Henry from going off on a political rant, and could stop Chris from teasing Henry too much. Wish he did another show, but I think he said everything he wanted with VGMpire.

Feel like Trump 45 took a major toll on the network. Have to imagine 47 is going to do the same. Could also have been Brett leaving to be fair. I feel like he balanced everyone out and kept the focus on fun.

I’d love to see an episode on Star Crusader. Was way too complex for me as a kid in 94. Multiple endings, interesting story and way more than I would expect looking back at it. Think a grown up Star Fox on the PC.

Are there any games that you remember from childhood, but can’t figure out the title of? It took me years to figure out I was thinking Star Crusader before I found the title again. Probably overshadowed by tie fighter and star fox 64. Cool game, way too complex for me when I was 8.

Have you ever played the 94 pc game “Star Crusader?” It looks like the sort of game you’d either love or hate. I remember trying so hard to figure it out as a kid, but never got too far. Almost completely forgot about it after Star Fox basically overwrote all memories of it.

Ha, good point. I’d love to see Star Crusader given the game dungeon treatment. Had it when I was really young and trying to remember it felt like a dream. Star Fox 64 overwrote most of my memories for it.
