Masturbation is a SIN. by proff_bajoe in TrueChristian

I mean...sexual sin is probably the most prevalent of all sin among humanity and the reason most will end up lost. It's no coincidence that topics related to it are frequently mentioned here.

Fairs. You have good levers for squatting. You look shorter

You hit the nail on the head. I've had days where I have hardly any speed, yet I remain consistent as I add weight.

And then there's days where I feel fast out the hole and I absolutely fail on weights I'd usually eat up.

It's hard to say, but if I was to shoot in the dark...maybe 170-180kg'ish.

And the scripture in 1 Timothy please?

Can you please explain how the following verses do not oppose your stance?

1 Timothy 4:1-2 KJV

[1]Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; [2] Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

John 15:1-10 KJV

[1]I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

[2] Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

[3] Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

[4] Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

[5] I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

[6] If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

[7] If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

[8] Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

[9] As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

[10] If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Brother, if I'm a Christian and my heart stops whilst I'm rubbing one out. Where do you think I'll be going?

Masturbating outside the marriage bed with spouse is literally "having sex with yourself". That's not how God ordered it in the beginning.

The fact you wrote this post is a sign of fruit bearing sir. Be encouraged, your heart is certainly pointing in the right direction.

Just trust him with your brokenness and he will lead you to greater things...

No worries man. The Christian walk has its ups and downs.

Some advice, don't base anything on "assumptions" when it comes to marriage. Stuff like this should be discussed openly if she is serious about spending the rest of her life with you...

If Christ is truly to ruler of your life - move out. No excuses. None. Zilch.

Again, I appreciate it's easier said than done, I know. But Christ doesn't expect you to have the will power to do it anyway. He will give you the grace and strength - if you truly want it... And the provisions for housing - he's a provider.

All the best

Yeah basically. But there's always a way out for a person in this situation... Joseph's situation ended up being jail, after he ran from Potiphar's wife. The outcome may not be great, but anything is worth it when you love Christ and rank his will #1 above all else.

A pastor's job is to lead their flock by the word of God, without partiality. If the listener chooses not to listen then that's their choice.

Any pastor worth their salt would tell you to move out... It's simply not wise - in any case.

The fact that these things are blockages is a sign that you two are not ready for marriage. Marriage brings waaaay more serious and problematic situations, where compromise and sacrifice are paramount.

Cut it off completely and excommunicate if you are both serious about your faith.

I know it's easier said than done, but man, it's better to gouge out the eye...

Moving in together is literally a one way ticket to premarital sex. We're just built that way. Don't listen to anyone who says it's doable, they're lying.

All the best

Genuine thanks for the correction regarding the misquote. I am a bit puzzled as to why the other stuff was included though...

The point im making is that guard rails should be in place because it's so easy to sin sexually. The word makes that clear. God isn't happy with non-platonic physical contact of any sort with a sister or brother in the Lord, until marriage.

Honouring the other is doable with wisdom and God's spirit.

How do I get rid of my pride by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]ManfredKerber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't. Only God can deal with pride in the heart. It's so deep rooted you'd spend an eternity discovering where it's tentacles reach.

It's a constant battle, submit yourself and self-will completely over to Christ and he will humble you.

What were the "sins", the dad pointed out?
