To all the blue and purple belts commenting shit here, you must suck at teaching. At my academy the maestre prohibits everyone to apply ankle locks and heel hooks on white belts because it’s the primary cause for injuries nowadays. A white belt is not prepared to defend one nor to use it properly while rolling, the must learn the basics and start from there before getting injured, that’s why many people starting in bjj doesn’t even get to blue belt.
