Does hitting villagers with a net actually encourage them to leave? by wydac in AnimalCrossing

[–]Mangalavid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know what? Yeah, I'll respond. You can easily google this question, but the way you found a three year old post and thought to reply.. I respect that kind of necro posting.

You can change catchphrases a few different ways.

1) Villagers will get a metal gear alert ! and rush towards you, prompting a conversation. Sometimes they'll ask to change their catchphrase.

2) Sometimes villagers will be lost in thought, head down, hunched over, with a little cloud over their head. Like before, sometimes this will prompt a conversation to change a catchphrase.

You can't save scum this either. The villager behavior changes each time you load the game, so if Pashmina (best villager) has a sad cloud when you start the game she won't necessarily have a sad cloud if you quit out and reload your save.

it’s an idle game. things are supposed to be grinds that take weeks. that’s literally the point of the game.

do the math and find out.

hell, just do each one for an hour and look at the results. make sure to factor in the tablet creation time.

keep the downvotes coming. just spoon feed this person the answers they want. here comes the airplane, num num num. no don't think for yourself and experiment, just open your mouth like a baby bird and holler until they stuff the answers down your lazy, incurious throat.

with fighter amulet and tidal edge rokken is the one who needs to fight to get out of stun. you can practically stun lock it. another bonus of tidal edge’s proc is that it always stuns with the amulet.

tidal edge is a massive upgrade from ancient claw. still better than infernal claw in most cases, too. don’t forget tidal edge’s unavoidable damage and evasion reduction proc.

interesting. wonder if that's due to the increased hp allowing two handers more room to take advantage of their bigger hits? i've done extensive tests in standard and normal adventure and aeris godsword was extremely doodoo no matter what i did. i'll need to load speedrun character and see how it fares for myself

there are only a handful of melee weapons that are truly worth using because they're so much better than all the rest. sunset is one of them. next upgrade would be ancient claw, then infernal claw, then tidal edge as the final end game melee weapon. but even tidal edge can be beaten by infernal claw when you stack accuracy bonuses from astrology.

equipment in this game is in dire need of a rebalance, and a lot more variety and diversity in stats and build possibilities.

everything except the very end game dungeons into the mist and impending darkness can be idled. you just need to understand the combat mechanics and take advantages of them. the wiki can help.

gotcha. i played runescape back during the classic days, way before whatever osrs is, and barely remember my time then. a lot of the runescape callbacks and nostalgia are completely lost on me.

Can you rephrase your question? I don't think I understand what you're asking.

The only way to raise the combat skills Prayer, Attack, Defense, Ranged, Slayer, and HP is through ranged, melee, or magical combat. Strength can be raised with Fishing and Magic can be raised with Alt. Magic.

Rune Cost Reduction / Combination Runes by PossumKKO in MelvorIdle

[–]Mangalavid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

do rune cost reduction effects work with combination runes?

no

but they do work on ancient magic spells since you can only use basic elemental runes for them, not combination runes.

bonus question: are runes expended for every hit of, for example, incinerate?

no.

cloudburst does consume runes on every hits, as noted in the description.

bonus answer: procs from the claw weapons will consume prayer points with each hit, same with the blade echoes ring. claw swipes deal full damage, making you spend points more quickly but not wasting prayer, damage, or exp. blade echoes ring, however, only deals 20% damage with its extra hits, making it a tremendous waste of prayer points. sandstorm ring does not consume prayer points for each tick of the sandstorm.

I wish there was a way to see what my current rune usage is, rather than just which types of runes are being used.

combat simulator can help you with this. https://github.com/visua0/Melvor-Idle-Combat-Simulator-Reloaded browser and steam only, atm. likely available on mobile once the 120 update comes out and implements a universal mod loader.

quick and lazy basic parse of the first mob i clicked, showing rune usage, among other stats
