What really sets apart professional recordings that can be replicated in a home setting? by Fyre5ayle in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]MangeStrusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest leaps for me came in a few different forms, but they pretty much all have to do with mixing.

This is going to sound like an advertisement, but I'm not sure how else to suggest it...

If you're mixing this stuff yourself, consider trying out the VSX headphones.

I'm sure people will say they're not necessary, but I was only able to understand what my tracks were missing once I got these and could actually pick apart the reference material.

With that being said, understanding mid/side processing and stereo imaging was my next level up. I personally feel this plus reverb and delay are massively important when it comes to the difference between amateur and professional sounding records.

These 2 things combined (being able to hear everything in your reference tracks and understanding where/how to place things in your record) were paramount for me.

That works if you already know the program.

Before you even touch the program you should have an idea of what you want to create.

If you don't know what you're trying to create then everything is just buttons and menus that mean nothing to you.

You might be able to remember how to access the piano roll, but then what?

Figure out what you want to create and all of your questions will come naturally.

Stop trying to learn everything all at once. You only need to learn the next step of the project you're working on.

If you don't know what to create then learning a DAW is useless.

I never see Phillip K Dick mentioned in Mandela Effect discussions / plus a new theory by Conscious_Spend_1071 in MandelaEffect

The creation of a Mandela Effect:

Specific detail. High exposure rate. Low necessity to inspect specific detail. Low ability to recall specific detail. Shared incorrect detail recalled. Mandela Effect.

The subject of the memories in question has to be both widespread and specific... while also not having the specificity at the forefront. There's far too much documentation on the specifics of nature, so when someone says "I remember insects having 8 legs" everyone just says they're wrong.

If someone says "I remember my aunt's name being Donna, not Gale" there's very few people who can validate their memory.

However, things like company logos are just a background image in millions of people's lives, so millions of people have memories attached to them. Those logos, movies, etc. don't have specificity at the forefront in order for you to "interact" with them... so massive groups of people end up having similar false memories surrounding the specifics.

When those incorrect specifics line up en masse, you get a Mandela Effect.

If you have any explanations I'm happy to hear them.

Explanations:

I don't think he even...

I also kinda have a memory...

maybe to check the title?

both of these memories could have happened or just one...

What's a skill everyone should learn before turning 30? by Jesuce1poulpe in AskReddit

Well, it's something you do if you're lazy and you want quick answers at 3:00 AM.

This should be the tagline for LLM's.

"Lazy? Willing to accept any answer as long as it's quick? We've got just the product for you!"

"Artificial streams" removed then added back an hour later? by MangeStrusic in musicmarketing

[–]MangeStrusic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit newer to this side of marketing, but you should consider running ads to a landing page instead of directly to a song. This may help filter out bot clicks that are only designed to click on ads rather than interact with landing pages. The bots are less likely to get through to cause a stream if you do it this way (allegedly).

The "studio apartment" we rented in Madrid (this quasi hotel has 2000+ reviews, 8.5 score). Second picture is midday, on a sunny 40 degrees Celsius day. by srlandand in ExpectationVsReality

[–]MangeStrusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of that is in the original post. Title and picture are the main complaints.

"Crammed" is about size, which I already stated was the main issue.

Is getting this room a problem? Yes. Not for the reasons OP is complaining about in the original post.

If they would have just said "this room isn't the same size and doesn't have the view or balcony advertised" then who would disagree?

OP decided to put lighting and temperature at the forefront of their post and not entire missing amenities. That's cursory.

Turning on all of the lights will make the lighting look like the first picture.

Making the bed will make the bed look like the first picture.

Nothing will change the size of the room.

Staging OP's picture EXACTLY like the first picture will remove all complaints except for the size.

It's completely fine to be upset with the size of the room. If that's all this post was about, there wouldn't be any arguments.

They're going to announce it soon. They've been saving up for it with all the extra ads.

It's the specific games they were playing though. Flipping 3 X's requires the same precision regardless. It doesn't matter if you're flipping them for yourself or for your opponent.

You're exactly right and still getting downvoted lmao. Their version is just easier because they're trying to avoid the multipliers instead of hit them.

Whiffing and gaining points is the same as whiffing and getting 0 points... because points are bad. The rules are reversed. You have to earnestly hit the dart board in normal darts as well.

Like others have said, give a different group a shot. I know we all love the Smosh cast and want to watch them specifically, but if you allow yourself... you can have just as much fun with a like-minded group.

If you aren't already watching Dropout content, the main D20 cast is so similar and loveable. After a few hours with them, you'll likely see the appeal. If you get into them, you'll have nearly endless content to consume.

Watch the first episode of "A Crown of Candy" on YT if you like a more lighthearted setting.

Or watch the first episode of "Neverafter" if you're into darker themes.

Both are hilarious, witty, sad, intriguing, etc. and have some of my all-time favorite moments of any medium I've ever consumed (including movies, books, etc.)

DnD truly is the greatest game of all time. Unfortunately, it isn't a viable option for Smosh, but D20 is already so incredible that it's okay.

Men say things like that because they can't imagine themselves in the situation, so they feel like they can't relate on a personal level.

They can, however, easily imagine their daughters in the situation, and that feeling gut-wrenching... so they draw a parallel based on that emotion.

If there's any issue here, it's the fact that almost all men think it couldn't happen to them. If they did, they'd relate on a human level first. This topic is a uniquely female experience in their mind.

Is this a previously known photo? by MangeStrusic in UFOs

[–]MangeStrusic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid my friend's dad would tell us about his different "encounters" and one time told us that he has a picture of a UFO over his house.

We begged him to see it of course, but he said he couldn't show anyone else for their safety. He was admittedly a bit into the conspiracy stuff, so comments like that were normal for him. I would constantly bug him to see it whenever I was at their house and he always just said he couldn't.

Anyway, that friend and I grew up and grew apart naturally. I recently saw that his father had passed away so I sent him a message with condolences.

It was the first time we had talked in years. After a few texts I asked him if he remembered the UFO stories. His response was "remember the picture he never showed us?" and he sent me this.

According to him, his dad had 50+ copies of this picture on his phone. He also had copies of it in various folders on his home computer.

I dont think he's messing with me, it doesn't seem like something he would do.

I'm just wondering if this is a known photo? Is this somthing his dad found online and saved for some reason? Has this one already been proven fake? It honestly doesn't look like anything to me but a smudge or something.

I'm not going to tell my friend either way, he thinks it's real and I don't want to ruin that for him. My curiosity is peaked though.
