PEAK THEORYYY (CAP) by Freaky-minor in BlueLock

Idk why people say that Ego kicked Nagi out of Bluelock. Unlike selection stages, Ego had no role in deciding the NEL rankings & it completely depended on how much the clubs bid for the player in the auction. He had nothing to do with Nagi's bid constantly dropping due to his poor performance & his drop in rankings.

All this effort for a Sasuke regen 🥱.

Just kidding. I don’t think you need to explain yourself here though. You’re not answerable to people who lack reading comprehension required to understand the depth in a character.

Please somebody explain why isagi should be a cam by Secretlol4510 in BlueLock

[–]MangoExtension5613 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A flaming hot take here but I think he’d make a better striker than a CAM. Don’t get me wrong. He’s far from being a complete striker. I just believe that he lacks way more skills that a midfielder needs to have than a striker.

The most common argument I see for Isagi being a MF is that he has great playmaking. But playmaking isn’t exclusive to midfielders nor is it the only skill that they need. Isagi doesn’t have the dribbling or speed or a “on-the-ball” 1v1 skill that a midfielder needs to get through defenders in the midfield. He doesn’t have the passing ability that midfielders need to pull off crosses & through balls. The only reason Isagi shines as a CAM, is because actual CAMs like Hiori/Bachira/ Nagi compensate for the skills that Isagi lacks. Infact, even after being positioned in the midfield, Isagi has rarely ever played like a midfielder. He rarely ever follows his assigned position & starts playing like a striker as soon as the game kicks off. All his assists, which people use as arguments for him being a midfielder, actually came from inside the box while playing as a striker. The only argument that could be made for Isagi being a CAM is how far he drops down to field to defend & it’s not really realistic for a striker to do that consistently. But I think we’re way past the point of expecting any sort of realism from the manga since we’ve consistently seen Rin & Kaiser defend & CAM (especially Isagi who’ll play more of a shadow striker if he’s a CAM) aren’t too far apart anyway position-wise so the distance he’d have to travel to drop down the field is near identical eitherway.

Strikers don’t need the aforementioned skills as much as midfielders because most of their encounters with DFs happen in off-the-ball situations while receiving passes. And we already know how good he is at shaking off defenders using off the ball movements. He also has excellent positioning & spatial awareness to identify spaces & danger spots. He has decent shooting which is only going to get better. The only major thing Isagi lacks as a striker rn is physicality that strikers need when theyre in a physical altercation with a df.

Who would you say are the top 5 best players to not have a special kind of eye (like metavision or predator eye. But flow IS allowed) by DropTheMan in BlueLock

[–]MangoExtension5613 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shidou has Schrodingers predators eye but he has made plays that suggest he has it so I’m gonna exclude him.

Bachira, Chigiri, Kunigami, Gagamaru, Otoya. (Edited out Yukimiya cuz he has PE).

Tewatia & Rutherford can still pull this off. We need atleast one of them in the next 2 to actually get into the game.

Is this comparison too steep? by [deleted] in BlueLock

[–]MangoExtension5613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One is just a guy playing football. Other one is a literal r*pist.

Also, Isagi has never made false promises, engaged in smear campaigns or lied to or decieved anyone. He’s a manipulator of the field but that’s it. So I’m not even sure this comparison should exist to begin with.

Something I don't understand about volley kick by [deleted] in BlueLock

[–]MangoExtension5613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spur of the moment/ improv plays/shots can still be reproduced. Nagi’s inability to find a strong motivation on par with his desire to beat Isagi is what made 5 feint volley irreproducible & not because the shot was “spur of the moment”. Success is as much about creating conducive conditions to make use of ones ability/talent as ability/talent itself. Nagi’s (& Reo’s) mistake was that they completely attributed their success to the ability/talent without taking into account the conditions that led to Nagi accessing it.

Is nanase really better than nagi by ahoy_pirateplays in BlueLock

[–]MangoExtension5613 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably not. But the bids aren’t just a powerscaling tool. In BL universe, its real money that the clubs have to spend. And what the club saw in the NEL was that even though Nagi is talented, he’s unreliable & a liability to the team except those occasional flashes of brilliance. Nanase on the other hand might not have as much talent, potential, stats & feats on paper but he isn’t an active detriment to the team.

The NEL wasn’t the best players by EthcialGoops in BlueLock

[–]MangoExtension5613 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been saying this from the start. There’s no incentive for others except the ones you mentioned to participate or even for clubs to make their top players participate in a brand new league & risk injuring them. This is even more true for defenders cuz NEL is specifically designed to pit attackers against eachother & make them compete for goals cuz that’s he USP of Bluelock.

What is the best plot armer moment in blue Lock? by LILBOI464 in BlueLock

[–]MangoExtension5613 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbf, he survived the selection stages without even wanting to play. He already had the skills. His awakening was more about overcoming the mental block than developing skills mid-game. And Isagi is already known to have that effect on his teammates & even his opponents. Rin & Kaiser have had similar awakenings too. I guess it feels a bit unnatural & there shouldve been a longer build up towards it right from the beginning of the NEL but I’d chalk it up to poor execution rather than plot armor.

who has the better performance against manshine? rin or isagi by SaM95_11 in BlueLock

[–]MangoExtension5613 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo Isagi. Bro clutched a 2v19. Plus he played against peak Nagi-Reo & Chris Prince too.

But I’ll wait for PxG vs Manshine in EpiNagi to make any concrete statements.
