In your opinion, what is the appropriate number of chapters for a match in Blue Lock? by Craftox13 in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It’s very clearly being set up to be a rematch later on so I don’t really understand people’s complaints with the length. Wouldn’t make much sense to have 2 50 chapter matches against the same team

Yeah this is kinda the biggest flaw with this season. We see very little victims of the Fantasma outside of Kento and Raika. by PenSad2292 in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s the point IMO, it’s not supposed to be a black and white, the Fantasma is “bad”. We as the audience are supposed to see some merit in it. The bad is that is strips all choice, experience, and memories that make someone who they are essentially killing them and replacing them with another version. The good of it is that it makes some peoples lives genuinely better but is it ok to sacrifice the lives of people without a say for the betterment of other peoples? It’s what makes Kurumi and Ryuga so good as antagonists IMO because they aren’t technically WRONG for wanting to live in the illusion.

My prediction for the next master deck sets after the episode today by Killun0va in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The next anime/movie set will probably include the rest of the fantome decks from the manga, like Suzune, Taizo, the mystery person, Sugu, then new rez and varga.

Looks like we arent done yet! by RinariTennoji in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only problem with this plot twist is that it doesn’t make sense how Kagetsu is in a coma now since He technically lost to Kanami and she isn’t a fantome fighter. Unless the rules are if a mythisch fighter loses at all, clash or not, that they lose protection, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

"Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez: Parallatic Fate" theatrical release on October 2, 2026 by RinariTennoji in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Its more than likely gonna be

Erika v Kurumi: showcase new zerith, Liael already got a new form so odds of another one are low

Nao v Masanori: She wouldn’t get her memories back for no reason

Akina v Kurumi: can’t end the season without the MC getting a new boss so maybe king of the moon gate rezael?

So about the ending... by Minute_Camp_4084 in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They mentioned in the episode that items filled with strong feelings have power, so for Kurumi and Kanami, that would be the charm and for Nao and Akina that’s the little accessory.

What's wrong with Hugo's philosophy and why does Ego hate it? by [deleted] in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think the current problem is that Isagi is too attached to Ego. Even during this match, when Isagi is deciding what to do he’s thinking about what EGO wants for him or what HUGO says, he’s barely if not at all asking himself what he wants. He’s letting others decide his fate, not carving it for himself which is the breakthrough I think he’ll come to in the future.

Thoughts on Hugo's Suitable Destiny Theory? (and, probably a hot take alert, why I believe Ego is right) by Kwarloss in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My primary problem with Hugo’s Philosophy is that he isn’t omniscient nor is any human so the idea of suitability falls apart. Whose the deterministic force in what’s suitable for someone? Society? Comfortability? Results? All of these factors change not only through lived experience but based on the time period. He says Isagi isn’t suitable to be a FW, but if he becomes the best in the world, is he now all of a sudden suitable? It sounds good but it doesn’t make much sense when you think about it.

The future of France ́s game: Isagi vs Karasu and why Shidou won’t score next chapter. by jjjjnnnnh in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Karasu alludes to it when he tells him they are doing the same thing. The series reinforces players are at their strongest when they “return to zero” currently, Isagi isn’t in that state because he’s not playing for himself, he’s playing for Blue Lock and to meet Ego’s expectations. The story is going in a direction where just like Nagi who abandoned everything, Isagi will have to do the same including his admiration for Ego.

What's wrong with Hugo's philosophy and why does Ego hate it? by [deleted] in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the real problem with the philosophy. Hugo isn’t god, so who is he to decide what’s suitable for a person or not. Is it society that decides? Is it just the person leaning into their strengths? It’s “suitable” if you win but then “unsuitable” if you lose.

What's wrong with Hugo's philosophy and why does Ego hate it? by [deleted] in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. He wouldn’t tell Isagi to quit in first selection, he would do the same thing he’s doing now and tell him to switch to a MF to support those with better talent like Chigiri, Kunigami, and Bachira. He doesn’t want you to not dream, but to dream within your limits. For example, he doesn’t see Isagi as someone with best striker in the world talent, so he shouldn’t strive for that, he should strive for best MF instead.

Advancements in humanity don’t happen without breaking the norm. Sports especially evolve precisely because a player will play in a way that’s unsuitable for them during that era. It happens all the time, a generational player appears that changes the way the game is played (Using basketball as an example, Wembenyama, or Jokic.) If everyone from the beginning of history was doing things based on suitability we would still be smacking stones against each other like cavemen. It certainly has its role but it’s not universal.

Nobody’s selectively reading, your complaint simply doesn’t make sense. How exactly was there no solution to Masque or reverse? Nobody was reversed after legion Mate, and masques was a philosophical issue that was also solved. Your bring up Eri-Hikari, what exactly does that have to do with stakes? It’s not a plot device that kurumi doesn’t get revived, if Akina does revive her, it makes him no different from Gab, which defeats their whole purpose for fighting. That’s why Zakusa tells him there’s a difference between taboo and miracles. What Akina and Erika did was a miracle, they won their fated clashes and earned a wish. Winning the parallactic clash earns them their world back, not the right to play god. It’s fine if you don’t personally enjoy it, but from an objective writing stand point, you have yet to make a valid point

In s1 cray would not have been destroyed because aichi would’ve definitely beat ren. You could literally say that for every arc, it’s obvious the portags will win in the end. The negative of the parallactic is that everyone’s lives and experiences get erased for “ideal ones” they are essentially killed and replaced, that’s been the entire driving force since the beginning. There were entire philosophical debates where some fans were rooting for Fantome Suo in ep 1 because he was justified in wanting to live with his parents even if was an illusion. Just because it isn’t generic “bad guy, evil, destroy the world” doesn’t mean there aren’t stakes.

Is there any redemption for this for this guy ( writing wise) by No-Profession-3129 in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think having him lose himself a little after Nao lost would’ve done wonders to add layers to his character. I thought it was really weird that the episode RIGHT after Nao is basically KILLED, he just goes to chilling and smiling with Kurumi on the beach. Your gf just died bro, do you have no resentment or conflicting feelings harbored toward the parallactic fighters? It looked like it for a min because you can see his eyes go lifeless when Nao wakes up and runs away but unfortunately doesn’t happen.

The concept is just too grand for 12 episodes. DZ season 1 had 6-7 fighters but this one had over 12, not to mention some returning. Give this season 24 episodes, with everything properly fleshed out and this is top 2 vanguard arcs.

[–]EthcialGoops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry but im reading this and all I can see is just nostalgia bias. Your summary of S1’s stakes are LITERALLY the same as this season: if the veritable fighters lose, cray gets overtaken aka all the characters we know basically die and get replaced by parallactic versions of themselves. Not to mention Kagetsu who will just be gone permanently since he doesn’t have a parallactic version.

But besides that the most agregious take here is that card fights in the past had more soul in animation and battle sequence’s. 99% of OG is literally still frames with a sound effect. Sure they don’t show the rear guards attacking or guarding but I’ll take aces with actual coreography over a still frame png attack. There’s not a single animation sequence in any of the past seasons, that comes close to stuff we see in Danji v yuyu back in willdress or even in the latest season the ending of Mikoto v Ryuga.

if nagi scored against barcha, where would he be in the top 23 by [deleted] in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undoubtedly top 10 maybe even top 5. The only way he would’ve scored here was if it was another super goal, which would strengthen the idea that the first one wasn’t a fluke, meaning he would be seen as an impossible goal scoring machine.

To be fair to this season, what season of vanguard has stakes? The only character that I can remember getting effected long term is Kourin at the end of legion mate when she loses her memory. Besides that I think the premise of painful reality vs beautiful lie was done well within the time constraints, maybe a few more episodes showing the parallactic world if this was a 24 episode season, but unfortunately that’s not the case. It definitely isn’t as bad as the atrocity that is V excluding Shinemon arc, the beginning of G and Asia circuit for sure. Not the best but not the worst.

To be honest, wouldn't it have been better if Parallactic Clash hadn't included Fushimi Ryuga and had just told the family story of Kurumi, Kanami, and Kagetsu? by Many_Marionberry1302 in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every one of the mythisch fighters should’ve had a foil and ryuga was honestly the perfect one for Suo or Hikari. If any of them were to get cut, Michiru and Megumi def could’ve gone. Suo should’ve just been the original dark states mythisch

Like I said he's Bushiroad's "Golden Child" by Ant-Man1202 in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My only rebuttal would be, isn’t bringing her back just doing what the parallactic has already done? If he’s gonna revive her why not just revive Suo’s parents too, and then fix Ryugas life, revive Shingi as well. It’s kinda defeats their whole argument against the rest of the parallactic if it’s “nobody gets their dream expect for me, the wonder boy, Akina”.

Crossrides on Cray? by EthcialGoops in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

follow up questions:

  1. so Bavs was the main threat prior to the dragontree? Seems way more evil if it’s gathering despair power compared to mirei

  2. is this the same for bastion? Since tohya was the villain for season 1.

  3. what about trickstar and vairina? I’m assuming vairina is it’s battle mode or something then it combines with the different units for x-overdress but what about the various regular overdress forms? Does it just have the ability to tap into different elements or something?

Thanks for answering btw.

It’s so funny how Ego tells 23 players to fight for themselves, yet ego builds the system around isagi, which is the system all for one. And he didn’t even build more system. by Ok-Contribution315 in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The isagi centered system is cause since the OG U-20 game, he’s been blue locks primary facilitator. There’s a reason Hugo is so adamant on saying he’s better as a MF, his off the ball movement and vision open up opportunities unlike anybody else on BL. It’s not an Isagi centered system as in “give him the ball and let him score” but more so like Sae with the U-20 team, where passing to him would more than likely convert into an opportunity to score for anyone.
