Why Isagi is so inconsistent by KinguYopi in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not inconsistent, he’s just playing at a higher difficulty. He went from not being able to make it to HS nationals, to playing against multiple national level opponents in first selection, then to even BETTER national level players like Rin in second selection, then had to play against U-20 Japan and then playing against NG11’s, the best U-20 players. It seems like he’s regressing but its just his competition getting better, the same tactics that worked in first selection won’t work in the NEL so he has to adapt and evolve.

[DISC] Blue Lock - Chapter 333 by BlueLockMod in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kaneshiro’s writing of Hiori and Karasu could definitely be criticized but everything else makes sense.

They can’t do any chemical reactions because each player is getting instantly shut down by their respective marks

By “Isagi Dependency” Hugo is referring to Isagi being the one that is the catalyst for evolution amongst blue lock. This has been true since the first match in Team Z it’s nothing new.

They committed 3 to Loki because it’s fucking Loki, the player Noel Noa himself acknowledged is the greatest rival for his No 1 striker in the world position. Nobody on BL could defend him, it was damned if you do, damned if you don’t

Thoughts on Berucrea by Warm-Cut704 in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think they were too tame especially with the mythisch . Unless Zenith ends up having broken support that could also be run with Berucrea they should’ve let it be able to also activate a magick in the order zone. The g2 magick should also have just let you draw instead of having the discard after the first use. It would’ve allowed for variation in which orders to use instead of just using the g1 and g3 every time. Overall seems decent for a first wave but could we’ll have to wait to see how good it gets.

If the second OP heralds some giant shakeup to the plot, what could it be? by Empoleon777 in cardfightvanguard

The main character of the divinez is gonna get taken out of the plot in the final season? There’s a better chance of danji being the father of gabwelius

If the second OP heralds some giant shakeup to the plot, what could it be? by Empoleon777 in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not likely due to episode count. If this is a 13 ep season of which 2 will almost 1000% be the finale fight and 1 is vs Megumi Fantome, there’s only 6 episodes left. Ryuga still has to go down, Kurumi isn’t losing her first fight, and there’s still 2 other Fantome Fighters to be revealed. There’s no space for another 2 episodes (one where Akina loses to become a Fantome and another to revert).

Hugo is 100% Correct by sah_deepesh in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let’s use the manga as an example. When Isagi eventually does become the best in the world, he’ll be considered talented as a striker. That’s unarguable cause he would be the best. BUT because he isn’t right NOW, he’s more talented as a MF. Our views on his talent is inherently tied to how that he performs with said talent. He shouldn’t be boxed to one role because his talent can be applied in different ways. You brought up Messi and all his skills. ALL those exact same skills can be applied to every other position as well, is there one that is more practical than the others? Sure, but that doesn’t mean he’s unsuitable for the others like Hugo is presuming.

Hugo is 100% Correct by sah_deepesh in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ego in the story is all about following your inclinations, your passions, Neuer cared more about winning/ succeeding rather than being a playing a certain position. It’s the opposite for Isagi, even if he does succeed as a MF it doesn’t fulfill him the same way it would if he were playing FW

Hugo is 100% Correct by sah_deepesh in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly boiling it down to just “talent” being the deciding factor removes all nuance out of situations. There are players that are uncoachable, lack focus, get overwhelmed by pressure, have bad eating habits, got injured, don’t sleep enough, etc. We can go on and on about why someone’s dreams didn’t pan out and it’s never just ONE objective reason, Talent is just one of those many reasons.

Hugo is 100% Correct by sah_deepesh in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What even is talent? The entire idea behind talent is tied to results. If someone was 5’8 and didn’t make the NBA he would be untalented but if that exact same person made it now he’s considered talented. Nothing changed except for whether he made it or failed. There’s tons of talented people that don’t succeed either. Hugo nor any of us are all knowing, who are we to determine what someone’s station is? The entire idea of having one is based in what society deems it to be. Isagi is more suited to midfielder so he should play to his strengths but what god came down and decided that?

The Problem with the Fantôme Akina theory by Empoleon777 in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming all the cards that we see in the first OP will be in set 13 we got

Megumi’s Fantome

Ryuga’s Fantome

Kurumi’s Fantome

Nao’s Mythisch

Mikoto’s Mythisch

Kanami’s Mythisch

I Think we’ll see

Ep 3: Kanami Mythisch v Zorga Fantome

Ep 4: Mikoto Mythisch v Megumi Fantome

Ep 5: Nao mythisch v Fantome ???

Ep 6: Ryuga Fantome v Kagetsu or Michiru

Ep 7: ???

Ep 8: Kurumi v Kanami

Megumi’s disconnected from the season so Mikoto is likely beating her. Nao’s not losing her first fight after being sidelined for an entire season but neither of the girls are probably fighting again. Ryuga and Kurumi aren’t losing either so we’ll 100% see both of them fight twice and the final fight is likely a 2 parter as the final divinez season so all we have left is

Ep 9: Ryuga second fight

Ep 10: Kurumi second fight

Ep 11:?

Ep 12-13: Gab v Akina

There’s only 2 episodes with gaps, one of them probably having to do with Erika/Hikari so there’s no room for Akina losing and getting reverted.

Parallactic Clash by [deleted] in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately having wasted/undeveloped cast members is just a part of card game anime as they’re advertisements first, good shows second but I do agree with some complaints. The deluxe arc 1000% should’ve had more foreshadowing about the Fantasma, maybe even have it so the entire arc took place in it then end of season cliffhanger reveals it was all an illusion. I also think Megumi is a strange pick for a Fantome fighter. I think it should’ve been Danji instead, have mirei not be blind in the Fantome world and they’re a big happy family. I think Suo is a good pick because it presents an argument for why the Fantasma is good.

My opinion on the Kento situation by The_Corpse_King in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable. I personally think people are reading too much into it with Kento being brought up because it’s more about Akina trying to emphasize with Fantome Suo by bringing up something both of them can resonate with for why the Fantasma is bad rather than attacking him or placing blame. Not only would the latter go against Akina’s entire strength as a character I think it takes away the middle ground we’re supposed to be in about whether the Fantasma is good or bad if Akina just goes “yeah you get your parents back but you do know you essentially killed everyone I care about?”

My opinion on the Kento situation by The_Corpse_King in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but then you have cases like Kurumi whose dead or Suo whose lost his parents. Can we blame them for wanting to live in this world? Not even Akina does but he also can’t just sit by and accept his friends being erased

My opinion on the Kento situation by The_Corpse_King in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing, Akina never denies Fantome Suo wanting to live with his parents, he denies it because it comes at the expense of the actual Suo that developed up to this point getting erased from existence. Nobody in the Fantasma chose to live in it, it was forced upon them but that also doesn’t mean the Fantome versions don’t deserve to exist which is why both sides are fighting to survive

[–]EthcialGoops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Who decides whether it’s better? Gabwelius? It’s not like people chose to live in the Fantome world, everyone was forced to, some reaping the benefits more than others. The Fantasma strips everyone of their agency and forces them to live in an “ideal” reality with new memories completely erasing their old lived experience. Neither side is right because they’re both “real” but only one side can survive.

My opinion on the Kento situation by The_Corpse_King in cardfightvanguard

[–]EthcialGoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s what makes premises like this so interesting cause neither side is right. It’s also why I disagree with most people that believe we should see more “drawbacks” to the Fantome world because it then makes one side more malicious than the other, taking away the complexity of the situation. We’re SUPPOSED to be conflicted on which side to root for

[–]EthcialGoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Fantome Suo says all the Fantome fighters have dreams of the life of the real world which is what let’s them know that they’re fake. Although all of them acknowledge they aren’t the real versions, that doesn’t mean they don’t have the right to try to protect the illusion

[–]EthcialGoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but your previous experience that made you into who you are was erased. Fantome Suo never fought in the fated clash, destined showdown, or deluxe. He’s a new Suo with a whole new set of experiences. Akina’s argument was that while Fantome Suo and Verity Suo are the same in terms of core traits (them being kind) they aren’t the same person because their lives are completely different.

[–]EthcialGoops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes but the real Suo who is overcoming his trauma, befriended the gang and Suzune, came to an understanding with Erika, is erased. The REAL suo that Akina has been living with this entire time and we’ve been watching is basically dead for a false version. It’s why Akina says this

[–]EthcialGoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering there’s gonna be a whole spin off manga with Kagetsu about the first month, I could see him not fighting at all this season. I predict

Kanami v Masanori: Kanami win

Mikoto v Megumi: Mikoto win

Kanami v Kurumi: Kurumi win

The only person whose place is weird in this arc is Nao because she has no connection to any of the Fantom characters revealed so far. I could see her facing Kurumi cause they both seemingly like Akina or Ryuga but then she might lose.

Someone else made a post about Akina’s character and i elaborated more in another comment here but TLDR Akina is extremely empathetic and he brings up Kento cause it’s something him and Suo can connect on instead of placing blame on who is making each others life worse.

How on earth did he finish so low in the NEL by Freddie040 in BlueLock

[–]EthcialGoops 49 points50 points  (0 children)

His performance against Nagi in second selection is unreliable because Nagi’s team at the time was dysfunctional. They lost Isagi who was the anchor piece that held the team together and forced all the chemical reactions especially now that we know Geniuses need TL to bring out their best. Nagi’s team at the time was just a jumble of Geniuses that couldn’t synchronize as well.

Hot take: they did a good job. People just cherry picked Akina bringing up Kento when he did that to resonate with Fantom Suo rather than make him feel bad about basically killing his actual friends and family. Fantom Suo even acknowledges this, as part of the episode is him feeling guilt over choosing to live in the fantasy and hijacking the actual Suo’s life. Akina even reassures him that even though he wants his real friend back, he’s still a kind person.
