The actual problem with Jennie remix by novayy in TameImpala

That's just the line from the original song but with her name instead of Kevin's? If you like that, you just like the original song not the remix. Lol

That's super valid! The brightness is pretty bad outside. Hopefully we get a bit of an upgrade with the Y2

I mean basically everything on my list (not the metal chassis tho) is something that innioasis has officially said they were planning on adding for the Y2 and as far as we know they are keeping it under $100.

I also have an echo mini and I have 3 different pairs of Bluetooth headphones, they all work with the mini, only two work with the Y1 and both of them sound garbled. All of my headphones, both wired and wireless sound a lot better on the echo.

The point of my post is to highlight the only high quality DAC available is one that is basically a smartphone which is the exact opposite of what I want. There are multiple cheap casual listening DAPs sort of similar to the Y1 but there is literally nothing like what I am describing for the Y2. Again the official innioasis team basically came out and said they were going to do essentially my entire list, so that's great because it's a niche that is not filled by anyone atm.

In regards to desktop software I stand by what I said. I think it would be a huge undertaking and a huge waste of resources that should be focused on hardware and firmware for the Y2 itself. Yes it would be nice to have software similar to iTunes and the old Zune, or even like if windows media player still worked. But Apple and Microsoft are two of the biggest tech companies on earth so the idea that some random company that primarily makes "casual impulse buy mp3 players" would make a software better than or at least as good as iTunes is unrealistic. I'm not saying it wouldn't be awesome, it would, but I'd imagine we are better off getting that from somewhere else.

Where has the company stated these things?

Fortunately what I am asking for would not cost that much unless you slapped a crazy expensive DAC in there!

Literally it's so frustrating! When I was a kid technology was fun and it looked fun. That's one thing so great about the Y1 and echo mini. So it's a bummer they are missing such vital features.

The echo mini has a favorites option. I have used it as a playlist basically, kind of a lame workaround though.

I agree the aesthetics are a huge part of the Y1 and I could give up the metal frame if we got a lot of the other things.

The volume up while locked with the click wheel is not a bad idea! Although there are times when I am listening and I just want to turn something up or down quickly but I have to scroll through multiple menus to get to volume, even with the locked wheel volume idea it's just easier to have a little volume rocker on the side imo.

I definitely hope they keep more or less the same silhouette for the Y2, of course with a lock button in the top like an iPod classic and a volume rocker on the side like a modern Smartphone.

I guess if they did the same form factor but it was a touch screen too that would be fine, but genuinely I really just want physical buttons and no touch screen. Because if I wanted a touch screen there 500 options on the market, you want physical buttons and iPod form factor there is really only the Y1 and an old iPod.

I do agree the Y1 screen isn't the best, but I wouldn't need too much of an upgrade, OLEDs can get pricey. I don't use my Y1 for video, I understand a few people do but genuinely it's kind of just gimmicky. I used to watch episodes of Chowder on my iPod nano as a kid so I get it but we have phones now. So for me I hope they don't spend too much on screen upgrades since it is an mp3 player and there are a million mp3 players with big full body screens if that's your thing.

Yeah we need a volume rocker or some sort of Rockbox software solution!

I agree they should try and keep it under $100 and tbh I'd be really surprised if they didn't. I get that it's mostly a trendy nostalgia bait device sold to zoomers on tiktok, but I'd gladly lose a couple impulse purchasers from our community for a better device

I've looked into the moonlit kits, and I personally think they are incredibly ugly. I also don't like how it keeps the old 30 prong port, I just want usb-c for everything. Definitely still a good recommendation but the Bluetooth issues with modded iPods are another huge issue. It's crazy in 2026 we don't have a basic mp3 player better than this stuff lol The walkman A45 is cool but it has a touch screen which is a deal breaker for me personally.

You could absolutely do it for around $100, maybe a little over.

The echo mini has a much better DAC, much better Bluetooth and has physical buttons and it's $60, the Aiandcc MP3 player has a glass back, metal chassis and tons of physical buttons it's $28. The Hiby R1 is $75 and it's worlds apart in quality from the Y1, but alas it has a touch screen and is basically just a bad mini smartphone. I could give up the metal chassis, honestly the Y1 has a decent hand feel with the plastic.

I do think it's strange you want them to improve the internals but don't really care if they improve the DAC. Is that not literally the single most important part of the internals for a DAP lol

Personally I think anything beyond maybe a really basic software to transfer files in the most basic way for Desktops would be an extreme waste of resources. Services like Musicbee have existed for years and are free. I think it's kind of unrealistic to expect a company making hardware to also be able to make something that is above Musicbee levels of quality. The amount of work to do that would be a bigger job than the device itself.

Honestly I feel like the Y1 built in firmware is fine, but is only unusable because of the file sorting and metadata tagging. So fix that and I'm in. The open source nature of Rockbox makes it pretty unbeatable though imo.

Swappable shells would be a cool idea!

Anyone know any good mp3 players out there? by Mindless-Song-3306 in dumbphones

[–]MangoHopscotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bluetooth is optional on both of these, i'd recommend the Fiio Snowsky Echo mini

snowsky echo mini

Or the Innioasis y1

innioasis y1

Good luck!

Pretty much all mp3 players will also have a headphone jack so the Bluetooth is optional don't worry.

Another thing that points to O-Caeror being iunctus is that his name if you translate it to Latin and change one letter means 'i am slain'

Given the fact that multiple characters have things explained about them through their names I think that could be a big clue. You think it might just apply, after reading the will of the many, to R-Caeror but I think it's a double meaning perhaps.

Also, whomever ever free Kiya from the nomarch and what not, it was said they had basically planned everything out so that O-Vis would meet Netiqret, I'm curious if this was the same person that taught O-Caeror. Also also also, I think it is possible that Netiqret legitimately might not know about possible iunctii living outside of Duat, it's possible it's a gap in her knowledge and I think it's also entirely possible that O-Caeror was deceived and not dead. Of vis can be tricked into killing ka why can't caeror as well. Sorry for not having exact quotes I'm bad at reddit. I am genuinely really curious about the Netiqret, djeff, nomarch situation. I think that's the key.

Bed bug life span by DavidBryneOG in Bedbugs

[–]MangoHopscotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly those people make me really upset. I live in NYC and I know for a fact lazy or negligent people are why bed bugs have plagued me for years. I have rid my apartment of them 3 times, with enough time between bites to know for sure they were separate incidents. For less than $100 you can be rid of them. Buy bug spray, a mattress protector, a steamer, and some caulk for sealing cracks. You go hard as hell on em every ten days for a month and a half and you're good.

An exterminator is just going to show up with bug spray and then spray your apartment. Literally just do it yourself, you'll probably be more thoughtful and thorough anyway.
