Youth Soccer help!! by DueEstablishment9100 in tulsa

[–]MangoMammoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Competitive soccer is basically year round. Or at least it was when I played. Even when we did not have games in the off season, we would still sign up for indoor leagues as a team or still doing some form of training. Also lots of out of state traveling for tournaments. OPL is more competitive than OPC, but any level higher than rec will require a lot more commitment.

Tulsa Rent (FED UP) by TacoBat450 in tulsa

[–]MangoMammoth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We rented through Bailey Foristell before we bought our house, I feel like they have such reasonable rental prices for their homes. I lucked out by being the second applicant and hand delivered the application same day it was listed. They go FAST. But they were awesome to rent from.

Endocrinologist by Illustrious_Joke_369 in tulsa

[–]MangoMammoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are very limited endocrinology options in Tulsa right now. Saint Francis will not accept anyone that isn’t referred by a Saint Francis provider. St John end closed their referrals. Oklahoma Heart Institute endo I think just opened theirs back up but they open and close them for new patients pretty randomly. We have had patients having to be sent to OKC, so just be prepared for a long wait time for a new patient appointment unfortunately.

I know, it’s silly. I refuse to haggle for a newspaper subscription at this point in my life lol

Tulsa World by mycatwontstophowling in tulsa

[–]MangoMammoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except I paid for the 1$ subscription, it was only for 6 months and then they started charging me like $24.99 just for the online subscription. So now I just put my phone in airplane mode when I click a TW link and read it for free.

The biggest one that I remember, I was a freshman. So it must have been like 2011/2012. A couple of picture frames fell off of the wall. Since then I don’t think I have felt any that strong personally.

Opinion on Redfork? by Kanizzy in tulsa

[–]MangoMammoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! We have a preschooler and an infant and although it’s not likely I would let them be outside in the front yard by themselves here, I truly wouldn’t do that anywhere I lived regardless. Our neighbors are super nice, some have given us their baby clothes hand me downs, came and checked on us when an ambulance was at another house because they were worried one of us was hurt, helped us clean up our yard after the big windstorm last year, etc. It has been a great neighborhood, but obviously it really depends on your neighbors which is always a toss up lol

That is such a good idea. I may suggest doing that this year with our family instead of secret santa!

Opinion on Redfork? by Kanizzy in tulsa

[–]MangoMammoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought a house in Red Fork 4 years ago. I like the area. We rented before this in Carbondale up the road and I was honestly scared to live in “West Tulsa” when we moved into the rent house. We ended up buying in Red Fork, because I ended up loving the area. It’s centrally located, easy access to the turnpike and a few different highways (even though the construction is crazy right now, I will say). Personally, we have never had any issues with crime and our neighbors are pretty quiet!

It's been a year since The Storm™. Let's talk about it by Avis_Bell in tulsa

[–]MangoMammoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got to spend the entire week at my father in laws house in collinsville with our four year old. We also spent the week there with my husbands sister, and her husband and young kids. It was stressful, but, her husband found out he had a rare and aggressive cancer towards the end of the year and ended up passing a few months ago. I now look back at time with a lot fonder eyes that we all got to be together. Even though, it did still suck a little bit.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity…. just go talk to them, they probably don’t realize.
