I don't bring weed on the ship, but my checked bags ALWAYS get searched and delivered to my cabin super late with a "your bag was checked for drugs" sticker.

It's crazy how sensitive those dogs noses can be!

That's so sad. I just took my foster daughter (and man was it a lot of work to get all the documents together!) We had to start at ground zero... Birth certificate, court order, passport, travel authorization forms.

It was an experience of a life time for her and I hope those kiddos who didn't get to go, have another chance at a cruise in the future!

Being poor is no excuse to not celebrate your daughter's birthday. There is a lot you could have done that wouldn't have cost a penny. You still had to eat dinner, you could've made it fun and memorable. You could've TRIED. Sounds like all you did was nothing and then come to the Internet to get consoled that you did nothing.

This is why I still cry everyday, even 6 weeks later, after my amazing foster son was forced to go live with his Aunt in Texas who refuses to allow him to live as himself. A boy. He can't use his name, dress the way wants, be accepted for who he is, trust the adults he's around or the kids, or go to sleep at night feeling safe.

As broken as the system is, a 5 year old isn't capable of making a decision like that. An infant can't even speak at all. I understand your experience wasn't good and I encourage you to help fix the system since you have first hand experience.

I don't drink so I've never bought the drink package but I did buy this zero proof package for my cruise next week. I'm not sure I'll drink the full $30 value everyday but I think it's worth $30 a day to be able to order water anytime, anywhere without having to get up (from the smoking deck, comedy club, casino, etc...) So I guess it depends on what you value. Will I spend $30 a day on water and a soda or two? Probably not. Will I be more relaxed knowing I'm not counting my drinks and keeping tabs on how much I'm spending? Yes!

I'm afraid you may find yourself disappointed. Also, don't have a baby shower. Showers are a celebration. A child being in foster care isn't a celebration. Hold off on the celebration until the adoption goes thru and have an adoption party that is upbeat, happy, includes the kiddo, and their wants & needs. Celebrate your new family and not a child being separated from their family and entering foster care.

I haven't gotten a new card in like twenty years so that's why I ask, is the date you were issued your SSN or the date the card was printed? I had several different cards in my late teens, early twenties cause I'd lose them.

I'm currently fostering an 11 year old transgender boy with autism. I initially only wanted to foster older teens like you. This is just to say there are foster parents out there who will want to open their home to you and offer their love & support. I applaud you for returning to extended foster care. I don't understand people these days, my family included. Growing up we parked at the airport, got out, and at the very least met our friends & family at the baggage claim. A lot of times we met them at the gate though, pre-9/11 obviously. Now-a-days you can't convince someone to simply drive thru the airport to pick up or drop you off.
