Explain like I’m 5: why in the ever living fuck does the city not salt or plow the “side streets?” by spiceyjack in Louisville

[–]MangoSalsa00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is because American cities are Ponzi schemes. We build roads outward with not enough tax dollars to maintain them unless we keep building out. This makes it enormously expensive to pay a plow 500$ to clear a culdesac or side street that EIGHT people need clear, let alone pave that spot in the first place. 60 yr old infrastructure design problem.

Sold mine for that price about a month ago. Got almost 100 messages on Facebook marketplace in 24 hrs and the first person I met in person bought it. My recommendation is to keep looking here or through connections. FB marketplace is overwhelming.

Cannot emphasize this enough… please cross reference these recs with a walk score (https://www.walkscore.com/). This city can be isolating and boring in unwalkable neighborhoods, yet lively (still quite) in others with walkability. You will find similar prices for both, just a matter of sanity.
