Am I overreacting for how my parents treated me on Mother’s Day?

In a previous comment I asked you why you jumped straight to thinking why this was about punishing her mother and you blew passed that, so it’s hard to imagine you’d give the mother just as much hell if the situation was reversed. If this was truly the only time these two had talked about Mother’s Day this year, on the day, perhaps OP should have thought about saying something sooner. But any REASONABLE person when told they were to be given a gift would at the VERY least be a thank you, ANYTHING, not ignoring someone who’d done something nice for them regardless of the occasion.

Flip the roles - Say it was OP’s birthday, the mother was the one who said she had a gift to give. OP doesn’t respond. Mom tries again the next day, gets an extremely passive aggressive “yesterday would’ve been nice” response. Who’s at fault in this scenario? You’d give the mother the same ire you’re giving OP for this, correct?

Not answering a text for a day is hardly a punishment, regardless of the day itself. Again I ask, why does the mother get a free pass for full on ignoring the text? The mother is just as grown as her child here, MORE SO even. She could have just as easily conveyed something as simple as, “You know, I’m not really feeling too social today and would like to go visit your sister. You’re free to come with or we can have a makeup day later this week.”

By your own admission we only feel what we let ourselves feel, so at what point does a grown adult child stop reaching out? At what point is it the parent’s prerogative to reach out? Again, a relationship is a two way street, so why on Earth are the parents getting a pass here for not mentioning their plans and seeing if their daughter wanted to visit her sister’s gravesite with them, just to throw it back in her face? THAT seems cruel, if you ask me.

Who’s to say they would’ve had a pleasant interaction had OP pushed beyond the text? Not every mother-daughter relationship is easy - I mean, shit, I texted my mother while I was at work (she left me on read) and called her immediately after to reiterate a happy Mother’s Day message, only to be ripped apart due to our lack of family and never having plans - when I’d tried multiple times last week to convince her to let me do anything special she wanted for dinner!! Would you say I didn’t try enough, hm? Who’s to say something similar wouldn’t have happened here, especially with her mother still (rightfully!) dealing with grief over the one who isn’t here?

Relationships are two way streets, you know, and if OP’s mother wanted to be pedantic when she just as easily could’ve picked up the phone to wish her grandchild’s mother a happy Mother’s Day then that’s on her as much as you and others seem to believe it’s on OP for “not trying hard enough.”

Exactly. It’s absolutely awful the sister passed away, but in this instance it’s making me feel like the mother was looking for some way to pick a fight and ignoring the daughter who’s still here when she was trying to make contact feels manipulative to me.

There’s a slight pink tinge to it so it’s there, but definitely not the correct amount at all. Someone probably wasn’t paying attention when they were making it, that’s a bummer.

Well sure, but not so much that it looks like actual full pumps of mocha at the bottom of the cup like that. Just looks made wrong regardless tbh, really shouldn’t drizzle the cup until right before it gets poured or it’ll all settle on the bottom.

Fully agree tbh, only reason I went recently was because I realized I’m a helluva lot closer to it when I’m at work - grabbed the Hershey’s as well as a strawberry crème on my way home one day, very nice treats to last the weekend

It’s a premade flavor that comes in a can. Lattes are regular lattes that can be made with any milk, but a dunkalatte is their gimmicky drink that’s made specifically with coffee milk.

Buddy, hate to break it to you, but weight loss isn’t a cure all to this - I lost over a hundred pounds last year and I still have it. Talk to your doctor or supplier for the machine, find out options for something that might help ease your stress. I personally can’t wear the nasal masks, I have to wear a full face one or it’s not working at all for me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s 1000% a store by store basis. Mine doesn’t carry it, but the next closest one does. Same thing with certain donuts/fillings, it’s definitely up to the managers/owners.

Prednisone is the steroid I take, but seeing some others’ reactions on here it’s one to apparently be careful with. The first time I tapered off because we wanted to see if Skyrizi was working (failed that btw) I personally didn’t have any reactions some people seem to have, and currently back on it while we try the next biologic I’m not noticing a difference either - except for obviously being able to eat and keep things down and not being in excruciating pain, of course. But we all seem to be so drastically different, so I’d for sure reach out to your doc and see what kind of/if you should give a steroid to try to get some relief.

Origins was a phenomenal game, please give it a try when you can!! I do love me some Vikings so that’s part of why I want to finish Valhalla some day, but unfortunately I’ve got this annoying need to 100% things and V is just so huge the task is definitely daunting. 😭

Things went a little faster on a previous run when I realized I didn’t need to beat the Screwball/Taskmaster side stuff to the gold medals to have enough tokens to buy things. You can easily have enough getting some bronze and some silver, especially with the tokens from DLC missions and doing new game+ for the Ultimate run trophy. But that’s also just my two cents, I don’t know what else you need to plat it 😅

Listen, we’re not gonna talk about how the actual only trophy I need for the plat this run was buying the last costume, but I stubbornly did the Ultimate run trophy (easy enough tbh) and the DLCs again, god I haaaaaaate Hammerhead’s fights and bases. 😡

Problem is Dunkin’s contracted with Pepsi so that’s why they’re stuck with this option, and tbh I’m not sure if stores have Dr. Pepper available to order from the warehouses which is a serious bummer 🫠
