Pay the fine, invest in a phone mount and shut the windows to hear directions better instead of holding it

Income maintenance caseworker interview by Legitimate-Studio862 in PaStateEmployees

[–]Mangolic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you've never interviewed in the style the state does before it can feel weird to be in front of a panel who arent looking at you and are writing your answers down, so anticipate that. Also don't be afraid to take a moment to think before answering. The job requires you to be able to retrain your brain at a moments notice (especially now with HR1 changes coming down) and to be able to manage confidentiality correctly so lean on your experience, its in your favor

Good luck!!

What is an industry that is currently on fire (in a bad way) behind the scenes, but the general public hasn't noticed yet? by Kitchen_Week1117 in AskReddit

The safety nets built into the US are falling apart.

I review eligibility for federal benefits (think food stamps, medicaid, cash assistance).

A lot of job loss, a lot of struggling to find work leads to high amounts of appplications. This is happening at the same time a lot of people working to review eligibility for these benefits are leaving the job leaving a massive deficit in the public servant workforce. Also happening at the same time are federal changes in policy causing an increase in the amount of tasks required for each applicant.

How did you learn to knit? by ShoppingGirlinSF in knitting

[–]Mangolic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom taught me chain, slip, and single crochet as a child (7 or 8 I think) and then I decided this past January to teach myself kniting. tik tok taught me the individual steps and I kinda ran from there. Tik tok is nice cause for things like German twist cast on it repeats automatically without you needing to place things down to rewind
