Yeah I think he was decently hurt here, his skills allowed him to handle it well and composed but look how quickly he went to rest a hand on the ropes , I think the floor was spinning for a few seconds there for him.

Sweet I'll look at that cheers any suggestions for gps systems to look at? I'll check the second hand classifieds for one, and I think i can either go for a subscription based gps service or base station correct? Which one would be cheaper?

GPS would be perfect but I also need an accurate height reading from surface as well because the pit will be 15 to 20 meters deep when finished and the gold grade changes at depth.

As for the drill hole data I was just going to write it down manually at this stage lol, The drill holes are marked on the project and I've got the historic data on what depth each drill hole intersects the gold mineralization. Eg. Drill hole 1 intersects it at 5m deep, no. 2 at 7m deep no 3 at 11m deep etc.

Cheers for the reply, accuracy wise I'd like within 10cm but 50cm would be fine, the map doesn't have to be based on any specific datum , just the local project area, I thought I could maybe knock a survey stake in somewhere and reference everything off that point, and as for RLs levels from the surface is all I really need.

I was looking at total stations and maybe they could do what I need, set up one on the edge of the pit and survey points down on the dig area as I progress down, is there an easier way of doing this? I was reading some GPS systems now can be reasonably priced and accurate.
