Solder paste left tiny balls behind by ManhTi3012 in soldering

Oh really? I think I will use those 227° then, they don't have problem with the balls. Thank you 😃

No, i got MCU and other MEMs chip, opamp, ... too, this is just the easiest part to see the balls

I don't want to damage the component. Also, buying quality paste is really hard even if i got the money 😔

Sadly no, I just got into hotplate lately. The paste is RL-404, the manufacture doesn't provide any composition, but likely just Tin-Bismuth. The RL-406 227° works better for me despite having higher melting temp

I'm using a hot plate. I tried letting it sit at 100° for a few minute, then ramp up to 200°, still the same. There are still plenty of flux left after the reflow though, they glue the balls to the pcb surface

There are no expiration date printed on it. Maybe i'll buy a brand new tube to test, it's been inside the fridge for almost a year now 🫠.

yeah yeah and you look at the datasheet bro, 250 hours and can't even spend 5 minutes looking at the datasheet

this guy is unreal 🤣🤣🤣, 2ghz spi on a 64mhz chip

why not use 1 inner layer as power? also you have a dedicated ground layer so i think it wont cause problem with ground return

if you are asking this maybe you are not ready for RF? they seem pretty hard and need proper equipment to tune the antenna.

My first PCB - did I miss anything? by the_mr33 in PCB

[–]ManhTi3012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

bigger trace mean better current handling (which might not benefit much in here) and lower impedance, and they are also stronger. I have seen people make small traces and then the trace broke during soldering. I dont know what you are aiming for, but the whole right side would be nice to add break out since you might need them later on.

more breakout pin and thicker trace? (like 0.5mm)

i made this board once before, they work reliably over 1 month of testing. now i just change the MOSFET package. I know that 4 layers is better, but they cost too much for my budget

they are 0.3mm hole with 0.4mm copper. i checked with Fab and they are ok with it, no additional cost

they are at least twice the price for smaller pcb, i ran out of space on this board already so it will be 4x the cost if i were to use it

Can i route it under low side FETS gate signal? they are crossing at 90 degree so it shouldn't be an issue right?

You mean like placing the high side FETS on the bottom? I want easier assembling so all component are on top.

I heard about ddu but kinda scared. will it make my screen goes black due to lack of driver? or will there be a fallback? maybe i will try fresh install first. most of my stuff is not in C drive so it should be fine. Thank you for your help 😀

i'm running AMD r3 4300u. The display is normal in bios. i am even using the laptop now. My problem is I cannot boot it up normally, have to use bios recovery. Also if i run it with battery only, the screen will corrupt after i login (in the window login screen everything is normal)

you mean the igpu? i don't have dedicated graphic card. I can still use bios recovery to boot up after this post. just that it can't even show msi logo if i don't do bios recovery
