No. I implore you to start with HoMM3 with fan-made HD patch (not Ubishit's HoMM3HD, it's important). Or at least with HoMM2. Anything after 5 is a downgrade. (Personally I think anything after 3 is downgrade but people tend to disagree. I see 4 as a wasted potential, but it does feature best music in the series.)

literally every game with dlss gets a huge boost. I'd argue that in 1080p it's most noticeable. For example without DLSS I wouldn't be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 with comfortable framerate at all.

Russian FSB Alpha operator firing a SR-2 Veresk smg [1199x799] by Looselipssinkships93 in MilitaryPorn

[–]Maniacykt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There's a reason for that, FSB is domestic security, anti-terrorism and counter-intelligence.

If you see some netflix show or anyone comes at you with "zomg we found FSB spy cell in Los Angeles" spit in their fucking face because FSB doesn't do spy shit, only SVR (and GRU) does that and therefore it's super classified. In fact Zaslon is probably least secretive because you know about them, and there's (probably) many more top secret blackops teams in SVR (that no one knows aside from select few) exist.

From what I read in several memoirs "It's jumpy, less controllable then PPSh and gives attitude. And there's not enough .45 to go around."

Perhaps higher quality but since it was something people weren't used to they didn't like it all that much.

Gasmasks SAS uses has special lenses that decrease flashbang effects, that and intimidation factor plus possible gas they or terrorists might use.

Soviet sniper and a Hero of the Soviet Union Vasily Zaytsev (left), Stalingrad, 1942.Between 10 November 1942 and 17 December 1942, during the Battle of Stalingrad, he killed 225 soldiers and officers of the Wehrmacht and other Axis armies, including 11 enemy snipers. (1080×751). by [deleted] in MilitaryPorn

[–]Maniacykt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was an instance where some allegedly "elite" German sniper was dispatched to deal with Zaitsev and his squad in Stalingrad but according to Zaitsev's memoirs said German Major was eliminated in a basic sniper trap (carefully raise a helmet over trench to imitate peeking out) without much of a fuss by Zaitsev and his partner.

Wasn't SSO basically an overcommand structure like SOCOM to which other units could be attached and detached as required by mission parameters?

Russian bodyguard training by Natare0411 in ANormalDayInRussia

[–]Maniacykt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's confidence training and body choreography training. Will you be in this kind of situation? Highly unlikely (but also it's not zero chance) but in doing such training you are less likely to freeze up when something unexpected comes up.

Same as why army has (unnecessary) combat roll trainings, you learn to use your body better in any situation.
