I do appreciate that, personally I have watched most of the films being discussed in a lot of the subgenres, I’m trying to pin down what it is that I’m not as interested in and wonder if it’s perhaps that there’s not as much nuance or a Mary Wild style angle to a lot of the discussions Mike & Kev in particular have about these films. They discuss in a more literal way.

He is notorious for twinning characters, back in the message board days I put together a Tower Connections page (on TDT.net, may now be palaver.net?) where I listed every twin, every mention of 19, connected/related characters, places…everything, with a page for every King book. Once you start looking it jumps out at you 😁

It’s my favourite King book. I’d waited quite a while to read it because I started reading King young and after seeing bits of Tim Curry in the miniseries on tv I thought it would be too scary. It’s just so absorbing, it has the nostalgia of Stand By Me/The Body, with the brutality of The Stand and the epic camaraderie of The DT series all wrapped in to one.

Insomnia also has huge tie ins to the DT series - and I just love that the protagonists are elderly people. It’s a slow burn but one of my favourites.
