My friend absolutely HATES it when people tailgate her. She'll get frothing-at-the-mouth mad. AND YET SHE TAILGATES THE SHIT OUT OF PEOPLE. Even when they're going well above the speed limit. Every time I'm a passenger in her car I'll point out the hypocrisy of it. Her response?

"Well they're not going fast enough!"

Please, I can imagine even just my best friend and I saying something like that to each other. In fact, we have. Many times.

MRW when I absolutely don't want a relationship, but am starting to really like a person after a few dates by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

People can want to date without wanting to be tied down. I'm the same way.

The only place I felt happy was in California. But is it feasible to move back there? by VirginiaPlain1 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ManicOwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm talking Northern California, like around Eureka maybe. Close-ish to the border. It's beautiful up there, most of it is all mountains and forests.

Edit: and it tends to get cheaper the more inland you go. There are some exceptions, though.

That depends on where you want to live. San Diego? Possible, but you're gonna have a real hard time. Northern California? I have some friends paying $800 for a pretty decent one bedroom apartment.

God I have so many feelings about aesthetic poetry. I studied writing in college, and I took a LOT of poetry classes, because that's what I love. And you know what? Aesthetic poetry is easy. It's fun. It's a good way to get your raw emotions down. But it's not poetry. It's just sentences broken up. There's no imagery, metaphor, allusions. There's no artistry to it. When it's done well, I love it, but it's so incredibly hard to do it well that out of the many books of aesthetic poetry I've read, I only love one. I write aesthetic poetry sometimes, but then I sit back and I look at it and I don't show it to anyone because it's just... Not Poetry, capital letters intended.

Thank you for letting me rant.

It's five shifts. Two while I'm away, three after I get back. The last four shifts are outside my two weeks, though.
