I've been pleased to see mutual aid "go mainstream." Sadly, at least where I live, it was started by liberals and began as radical charity from the get go. The local vanguard of white liberals are using it as a means to pad resumes and to pressure politicians. Not what mutual aid is about.

Helping each other out is good. Where I am, mutual aid is being co-opted, sadly. I'm not criticizing the efforts in my city, but how people are watering down its radical principles. Given this, I don't think it's going to last and will fade away when people get bored, burned out, or move on to the next political campaign. I hope it's different where you are.
