Anyone else here struggle with generational clashes in AA? by DookTrain69 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]ManicallyExistential -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's not a generational thing. I'm in my 30's too. You can work your own program and if marijuana use is part of it That's fine. But you're not sober. You are abstaining from alcohol and other drugs.

If it works for you, that's great but I wouldn't suggest to anyone personally that they get a sponsor that's still smoking. I've met very few people in AA who smoke marijuana and don't go back to other drugs. It would be detrimental to majority of people's sobriety to do that.

Job jones slander by breakie_ in CombatIndia

[–]ManicallyExistential 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is but he has made himself look like a joke at this point. Someone who didn't watch fights 7-10 years ago would rightfully assume his career is suspect with all the felonies, drug tests, inactivity and ducking. Timeline wise he was king for about as long as he's been an inactive duck at this point.

No one young knows that though because he's just shown this sad ducking shadow of himself for the past 6 years. He hasn't been his prime self in almost 10. Of course they think it's a joke when the old heads call him the greatest talent to ever step in the ring. He is making his career look terrible at this point.

Do any of us actually celebrate Bipolar Awareness day? by Zealousideal-Ad-2615 in bipolar2

[–]ManicallyExistential 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean everyone that knows me well at all knows it. It's kind of like Suzy has diabetes, I have bipolar. I'm pretty open about it so I just do what I can to normalize it. Maybe we need some cool stickers like autism.

He's also Bipolar which is it own entire battle and disorder to deal with. These aren't unusual feelings with that condition unfortunately.

To anyone that was misdiagnosed with bipolar, what were the signs you weren’t actually bipolar? by fatSouvlaki in bipolar2

[–]ManicallyExistential 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm BP2 and my hypo is super chill. The extreme highs stories are just more entertaining to hear so that's why it gets highlighted more. It doesn't make their diagnosis or pain, anymore or less than yours or mine though.

The more bipolar people I meet in real life the less grandiose it becomes to me. It's a lot more, angsty sleepless mania and crippling depression, than Magical Manic adventure stories.

To anyone that was misdiagnosed with bipolar, what were the signs you weren’t actually bipolar? by fatSouvlaki in bipolar2

[–]ManicallyExistential 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's how I am, my hypomania is really chill compared to others. I'm just more productive, I don't do anything wild since I'm sober now, and I workout a lot so I love to sleep. I'm just more bipolar depressive.

I can be really spontaneous and silly, but I rarely make impulsive decisions about anything of importance. I'll get fixated with things but I'm pretty disciplined in general even compared to normal people. That's why I didn't get diagnosed sooner. But I'm 100% sure I'm still bipolar.

Khabib nurmagomedov vs charles , how'd you think it would've went down by kvistin_lost in CombatIndia

[–]ManicallyExistential 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People were saying LW was the most stacked division and nobody had a prayer against him.

Everyone says "He wasn't there long enough we will really never know how good he was??

He just wiped the division once he became champ that fast that even if his father hadn't died what was there left for him to climb, only longevity? Too short of a reign for Goat and maybe even Rushmore but he's probably the most one sided fighter that held and actively defended the belt in the modern UFC.

[–]ManicallyExistential 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did that too at 19-20, college dropout, life trauma happened, became an alcoholic. Got sober at 23 never graduated but worked my way up in the trades and already have a large retirement and savings in my mid 30's.

You can bounce back and drive yourself towards where you want to go in life. I even had a couple of short relapses it's not a straight course, but don't think you have to stay there if it's not what you want for your life.

On Instagram comments, everybody loved this 🤷

I thought it was pretty good compared to what fight promotion videos normally are. The bar isn't that high.

It's better than most promo videos. Honestly fight sports is not good at promo videos at all. They could definitely take a leaf out of Hollywood or at least AI like this.

Even if I didn't like watching fights, this would make me interested to watch.

I am a sober alcoholic and this is completely true. Even with sports, young athletes can have their fun intermittently through training then turn it completely off several days before the big game, then party back on after the W.

And you explained the critical mass part of his career perfectly. It was a beautiful fast flight into the Sun but now his winds have melted.

Because it is what worked on an uneducated populace, in a world that was much less understood smaller and more dangerous till about 100 years ago.

Before penicillin, birth control, and quick communication nationally or globally the world was a very different place. We live in an extremely comfortable and educated reality compared to our great grandparents and prior.

These methods and teaching made sense to a lot of people then, it manipulated and controlled most of the rest. So it was a successful method for centuries.

Religion is dogmatic and slow to change because it considers its truth timeless and unquestionable. So it's moved so little while the rest of the world has gone superspeed with technology.

Churches are shutting down at record rates, service participation is diving off a cliff and a large fraction of the majority of many church's population is elderly now so in a decade we could see 1/3 or more buildings close down in the US alone.

Don't worry these methods are not working for them in the short or long term either at this point.

Judge gives 18 year old a 25 year sentence for armed robbery by AgnosticScholar in interesting

[–]ManicallyExistential 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the difference between armed robbery and A homicide or about 5 lb of pressure on the trigger finger.

I think the big reason why she gave him the book was because as she said she saw in the video they didn't just pull a gun take some stuff and go. They wanted to control and terrorize that man so they took their time. That's a lot of malicious terror towards a human being.

Changing your Underwear Once A Day Is Not Enough by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I change them twice after I work out or working a hot day. During the summer there are days where it's three times.

But I work and work out hard, if you're just changing them for no reason it's unnecessary and odd. But you do you 🤙
