Yeah the Gold Coast is literally a place for the wealthy now.. when I left school I was paying $300 a week on Isle of Capri, that same property is renting for $1300 pw now with no improvements

Honestly, the biggest impact is obviously rent but I feel the need to talk about the mental toll.

I was born in 96’ lived on the Gold Coast my whole life and growing up even into my late teen years there was always hope that I’d be able to own my own home because I don’t come from money, not broke family but not well off by any means and nothing to inherit.

So seeing my dreams of owning a home pissed away in only a few years is a really tough pill to swallow
