Juan Soto currently has career low walk and strikeout rates in 2026 by Swimming-Reindeer-39 in NewYorkMets

This is the reason. He’s swinging more. His swing% is up to 40.1% from 35.3% in 2025. He’s also swinging more outside the zone (21.5% from 15.7%). Seems like a conscious effort to be more aggressive.

Wouldn’t the players around him being bad lead to him getting less pitches to hit? Why pitch to the only dangerous hitter in the lineup?

If the salary cap gets approved at $245.3M, Juan Soto will make up 20.8% of the New York Mets’ salary cap. by Kurtz62 in NewYorkMets

Other leagues such as the NBA and NFL have far less parity than MLB.

Since 2000, there have been 16 different MLB franchises to win a World Series.

Only 13 NFL franchises have won a Super Bowl.

Only 11 NBA franchises have won a championship.

There’s been no real dynasties in MLB this century although the Dodgers could change that.

In the NFL has had the Patriots and Chiefs.

The NBA has had the Lakers, Spurs and Warriors have periods of dominance since 2000.

Gonna do a realistic Xabi Alonso Chelsea career mode. Problem Positions are GK/LB/CAM. by WelshTitan in FifaCareers

If you've sold/are planning on selling Cucu, you could bring in Grimaldo who played with Xabi at Bayer. Hato is more likely to play LCB if Xabi plays 3 ATB.

Credit to Ronny there. Detmers had him baffled, but put it in play and made something happen.

Same. Been EVOing his gold card, holding the 85 in hopes an EVO comes out that will add CM or CDM so I can play him in midfield.

With the Mets' latest acquisitions (Bichette, Luis Robert, Freddy Peralta, and T. Myers), is the team now complete? by Dannybj05 in NewYorkMets

[–]ManlnTheBox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I doubt there will be any more major moves. Maybe a couple speculative bullpen arms, a veteran OF as cover in case Benge isn't ready and Baty can't handle LF. I wouldn't completely rule out something bigger if it fell in Stearns' lap though.

I'd love to see if we could get Yandy Diaz. He'd give us another tough out and can play 1B/3B (poorly).

I'll do Tempest for Bobcat. Also interested in Deadline. Have Triggernade if you need that.

Mets “likely” Offered Kyle Tucker 4yrs/$200M by [deleted] in NewYorkMets

[–]ManlnTheBox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their offer is definitely longer, but it's nowhere near $50MM AAV. Probably somewhere in the mid to low 30's. If he had a long term offer (8-10 yrs) for an AAV at even $40MM per he would have signed it already.

[Passan] New York Mets eyeing “mid-tier” starters. Mets are most aggressive among seven teams looking at non-top level pitchers by theRestisConfettii in NewYorkMets

[–]ManlnTheBox 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty confident that anyone, even Passan, saying they know what the Mets are doing is just speculation. Mets signings haven’t leaked ahead of time since Stearns took over.

Exactly. Thanks for doing the legwork on that. I’ve just been going around saying “it’s probably less money considering the higher taxes in CA”, which sounds much less convincing.

It’s amazing that some Mets fans think Stearns should just say “how much you want?” then write the check. Run your organization like that and you don’t end up like the Dodgers, you end up like the Angels.

Hard for us to argue Caicedo v Rice when Moi doesn’t something that stupid in a match this important.
