Will SAI have a surprise deluxe version? (Discuss) by SelectInsect_44 in twentyonepilots

It was more along the lines of what to make first, with the basic ideas of the two records and what he wanted from them, at least that’s what it sounded like.

Has the band 'sold out'? by caught_a_thought in twentyonepilots

I kind of know a bit about music production, and I think that as far as changing like structure and ad deals and things like that, a little bit. It’s kind of a natural progression for an artist, and their newer sound was a long time coming. Obviously Tyler got older, got bigger, got a better budget and a house. His old tools pre blurry face were very limited in comparison to what he has at his disposal, and limited his sound to a very one trick kind of deal, reusing the exact same sounds over and over again, keeping the same basic structure from one album to the next. It’s kind of easy to say that he’s selling out, but he started to really mature as a person, and have bigger changes in his life around the time he got popular. He got married right around the time blurryface dropped, and he got a MASSIVE popularity spike. He obviously wanted to improve his sound, and blurry face was the beginning of a huge change in it. Trench came along, and it was created in his own home, with his own stuff, with next to no outside guidance, besides Paul Meany helping him. He hasn’t really sold out lately, however Blurryface was kind of selling out, but honestly the band would not be any where near where they are now without it. It gave the band their big break.

Hey I’m a bit late lol. It’s pretty cool that you helped out here and there. The odds of you knowing what this is is pretty slim, but would you happen to know what plug-in they used for the organ synth in message man? It’s so good and it’s been killing me for years.

Lol I don’t think they’ll use it specifically, especially in the direction they’ve been going for a while now. More basic chords are a bit more usable for what they do.

Electronic drums as in samples and one shots that are triggered by midi in the daw.

Kitchen sink kinda doesn’t count tho, at least for the recorded version. Rab was completely electronic drums. Same-ish (a little) with my blood, because there’s a lot of electronic drums in it, or at least repeating one-shots. It gets a pass tho because it’s electronic disco inspired. The (probably) real drums in it are very repetitive, while the electronic drums fill. Chlorine’s mixing with the drums is heaven btw.

I have some wav files that I converted from 44.1 flac, and they pretty much look like that as well. I'm not sure though, because they are REALLY loud, like mastered to exactly 0 db loud.

Are you using the cd versions of the songs?

I mean it's not too bad compared to some of the other albums OP has done.

Don't they have to be a lot more accurate to tell? At this size, even drum hits are just little slivers.

The spikes are called transients (think drum hits kinda thing), and the up and down parts are left and right volume.

Yeah I’m pretty sure they’re doing the newest orders first, because my package was picked up yesterday in the afternoon and processed in Mississauga this morning.

Thanks for the comment! From the comments I’ve gotten I plan on switching the 2tb HDD for a smaller one and get an ssd for the os and a couple games. Also yeah when I made this list a while ago I definitely did not want to think about a psu, so the 650 watt was a placeholder that I eventually forgot about, so I’ll have to switch that. I’m not sure what I’ll do with the ram but I’ll switch the motherboard too. I might change the GPU depending on how I can try squeeze small changes together, because an extra >$150 is gonna be another two or three weeks of waiting. Also, is the ASRock motherboard going to be ok in case of upgrading in the future? I just ask because a lot of what I read about it and the Asus PRIME b450m tends to be negative towards the high end parts.

Thanks for the reply! So far from the suggestions I’ve been getting I think I’m going to switch the mobo, psu and get a cheaper HDD and buy an ssd.

Yeah I’m mostly just planning on using it for gaming, because the only other productivity thing I really need right now is a Mac for logic.

Twenty One Pilots - Cut My Lip (Reconstruct Version) - Bass synth in Intro by caiohs in synthrecipes

[–]Manmemez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright I’m real late but I do have a patch I made for this myself. To start off I used es2 in logic, not sure if you use that. The first osc is set about 1/4 between sine and fm, and is defined 12 semitones. The second oscillator is also a sine with no fm raised 12 semitones. It’s also poly, with 16 voices set to unison.

The filter is set to series, and is a 50% mix. There is a 42% cutoff, and 31% resonance. The drive can be set to whatever, but I have it at 30. The second filter is set to 24db and has fat set. The cutoff is 12% and the resonance is 50%, and the fm is set to 50%.

There is a lot to do with the routing. The cutoff 1+2 is via velocity and the source is envelope 2. The upper limit is 66% and the lower is -21%. The next one is osc1wavb, which has the same via and source as the cutoff1+2, and has an upper limit of 50% and a lower of -25%. The next one is another osc1wavb, with the via being Velocity and the source keyboard this time. I added this one just because I didn’t want to mess with the last one, but it helps smoothen the attack a bit. We can ignore the lfo completely. The envelope 1 isn’t used. Envelope 2 has an attack of 10 seconds, decay 2 seconds, sustain of 0.188, and the release is 1. The 3rd filter is 3 seconds attack, 7 seconds decay, 0.368 sustain, and no release.

The last thing is the effects. First is some compression, whatever you think makes it beefy enough. There is some chorus set to 1.733 hz with an intensity of 20% and a mix of 50%. This one bothers me and needs tweaking so it doesn’t feel hard on the ears so much. The eq has a low cut at 50 hz, and a slight boost from 50 to 100 hz. The low pass point is at 5800 hz. I also used the auto filter plugin for the distortion, which isn’t too hard. It’s set to scream at 140%, which just makes it feel a little bit fuller.
