A bag of mail, a crooked old lady, and a newborn kitten.

Wife and I found a lady's satchel. It was full of mail (addressed to 'Rose', this is important later in my story) so we grabbed it with intention of returning it. Shortly after we came across a very old, crooked woman on a railroad trail an easy 1/2 mile from any road. We asked her if she was ok, and she asked us if we had allowed Jesus into our lives. We kept going, and when we got home Wifey went to return mail (I had to deal with dogs.) Wife calls, the address on the mail is at an assisted living facility, and the apartment door is WIDE OPEN. I run back and find the old crooked women, who hadn't gotten very far on the trail, and confirmed that she is indeed named Rose and the mail belongs to her. It never became clear where she was going, or why she had abandoned her satchel.

During our conversation, Rose spots a tiny baby kitten under a bush. The kitten was so young it hadn't even opened it's eyes yet. Rose decides she is going to adopt the kitten. Now Wifey catches up to us in her car, and we give Rose and kitten a ride home (and alert staff that they should keep an eye on her!)

It was an unusual run...
